Thanks for the answer but I think the customer is more interested in the geoprocessing-tools-for-hadoop which can be added as toolbox. So what are the possibilities there?

Hi. A possible customer asks how he can connect to his Hadoop - Data with the gis-tools-for-hadoop? Is it only possible to use preanalyzed data on a WebHDFS or HDFS? Or can the user set a query directly via Hive or Accumulo on the hadoop database? The new Big Data Analytics server is no alternativ for the customer at the moment.

Depending on your ArcMap version (10.2?), it could be that you need to install a patch: http://support.esri.com/en/downloads/patches-servicepacks/view/productid/67/metaid/2143

From my experience the strategy in such scenarios with the newer releases must be changed in following direction. If you have (spatial) tables that are maintained by non-esri software they usually don't need to be registered with the gdb. If you want them in your ArcGIS just use them directly (query layer). If you have tables that are maintained by ArcGIS, create/define them directly with ArcGIS - Tools. The "Register with geodatabase"-Tool does not work with empty spatial tables. You can't define the feature type (point, line, poly) with this tool. sorry for long time not answering.

hi. it seems that this env-setting does not apply on this tool. I understand that it might not work as you allready defined the geometry-type (geometry, geography in sql-server) with DB-Tools. Why don't you create the featureclasses / the tables with ArcGIS-Tools? Or as an alternative, if you would use the "Featureclass to Featureclass"-tool or the "Copy"-tool the keyword that you define will be used.

It might help if you set the keyword in the environment settings arcpy.env.configKeyword="ST_GEOMETRY" See: Output CONFIG Keyword (Environment setting)—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop I didn't test it, but it should work.

1. You can use a Domain account. If you used a local account first - then Change the account with the "Configure ArcGIS Server Account" Tool. Check that the new account has all neccessary permissions. http://server.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/administer/windows/the-arcgis-server-account.htm 2. You can install the data store "wherever you want" during the Installation. "Specify a location on the computer where you want these files to be stored." http://server.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/install-data-store.htm 3. The WebAdaptor has to be installed on a Server with a WebServer running. In your case I recommend to install the WebAdaptor on the Web Server Machine. 4. If you want to connect to your SQLServer with ArcGIS for Desktop you have to install SQL Server Clients. 32bit for the ArcGIS for Desktop, 64bit Clients fot ArcGIS for Server. 5. You don't have to install ArcSDE.

As far as I know you won't find missing tiles with the Manage Map Server Cache Status or View Cache Status tools. It just tells how many percent of the Cache have been "successfully" created. Nevertheless they are helpfull.

Have you seen that with ArcGIS for Server 10.1 WMTS is supported? http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/main/10.1/#/WMTS_services/0154000003r6000000/ Doesn't this fulfill your request?
