Eric Bader Vijay Gandhi Elise Acheson What happened to the dynamic workspace concept for adding local shapefiles in ArcGIS Runtime Quartz release? What is the way to add local shapefiles to Local Server and get rest endpoint for query, export functionality? Is it released, planned for release or will be taken off?

If your input is a Geometry (say points) then you can use the below sample //Create Spatial Reference Factory ISpatialReferenceFactory srFactory = new SpatialReferenceEnvironmentClass(); ISpatialReference sr1; //GCS to project from IGeographicCoordinateSystem gcs = srFactory.CreateGeographicCoordinateSystem( (int)esriSRGeoCSType.esriSRGeoCS_WGS1984 ); sr1 = gcs; IProjectedCoordinateSystem pcs = srFactory.CreateProjectedCoordinateSystem((int)esriSRProjCSType.esriSRProjCS_NAD1983N_AmericaLambert); pcs.SetFalseOriginAndUnits(0, 0, 1000); ISpatialReference sr2; sr2 = pcs; //Point to project IPoint point = new PointClass() as IPoint; point.PutCoords(xCoord,yCoord); //Geometry Interface to do actual project IGeometry geometry; geometry = point; geometry.SpatialReference = sr2; geometry.Project(sr1); You can use ProjectEx method if you also want to use specific Datum shift methods

What is the exception message that you are getting? Generally you will not have to start the service Async if you are already adding it to JMap. Have you tried with the sample mpks that ESRI provides, to know if its a problem with only the mpk you are using? Is it possible for you to share the MPK?

NAD27 Ellipsoid is Clarke 1866, whereas NAD 83 ellipsoid is GRS 80 which is similar to WGS84 North American Datum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia You will have to use a Datum shift from NAD27 to WGS84/NAD83 whereas the shift between NAD83 and WGS84 is almost negligible

Thanks Eric The problem I have is that I cannot use the Direct Shapefile reads until it supports Custom Spatial References. So I have no other option but to use blank.mpk approach. I assume this will also be available as REST requests? Do you have a Timeline for the Quartz Release

You can try the following pMxDoc.ActiveView.Extent = <your envelope from the coordinates that you get>; pMxDoc.ActiveView.Refresh(); // you can also use partial refresh Other way if that you can get the current Scale and use center at of your envelope center or if you have a single point axMapControl.CenterAt(<Point>); axMapControl.MapScale = <current MapScale>; axMapControl.Refresh();

Can you please elaborate what exactly are you doing? One application give me the coordinates Do you know what is the Spatialreference of those coordinates? Can you give me what those coordinates look like? and I have set the extent view as per those coordinates in ArcGis. Do you have idea? I think you are asking that you have to set the extents in ArcGIS Desktop? Which product are you working on and what is the programming language/API you are using?

I am trying to add labels to a shapefile in ArcGIS Runtime Java 10.2.4. The shapefile is added to the blank.mpk and I am forming a REST URL to export the map image. I don't find any way using REST or the Runtime Java API to remove duplicate labels like in ArcMap. Apparently, it seems that this feature is available in ArcGIS Runtime SDK for WPF?
