Crud, I just noticed you said embeddable. No, there is no way that I know of to have a layer list in an embeddable map unless you custom coded it . Using the esri agol code that isn't an option. I didn't read your first post properly.

I have been adding the layers from the map service by their rest index number url and that works fine. Example , /mapservicename/mapserver/3 It takes a few extra minutes but works to get the layers to work in the templates and you don't need separate map services for each layer like I thought back then. It is a pain when you reorder or add layers to the map service as the agol map needs to be redone too.

I think we may be talking about different "templates" here... Here's what you can do from arcgis.com. You can author a web map and share it with a group. You can download a web application template from the Share button on the Map Viewer. You can 'Publish' that application to arcgis online if you don't have a web server, or you can 'Download' it to deploy to your own server. The advantage of downloading is that you have the source code and can modify the application. However, some of these template are configurable without programming. Because your map is not shared with everyone, any user who is a member of the group it is shared with can sign in with their Esri Global ID and access the application. The attached image shows where in the Map Viewer you'll find these template applications. Thanks, Mike Mike, I can not login to a map shared with a group as described above using a user_name/pass that I know is part of the proper group, no logins for that group work. It just keeps saying Invalid username/password. Please try again. I have tried FF, IE, Chrome and no luck. I am using the basic viewer downloaded to our server with the proper webmap id. The AG Online hosted method works with these logins. The map services in the webmap are not secure from our AGS. Thanks.

Mike, Any plans on fixing this issue? I love the ease of the arcgis.com basic viewer but I have some serious map service bloat on my Server since I have to create a separate service for each layer instead of each mxd to get the individual layers to show up in the template. A simple mxd with 3 layers becomes 3 separate map services to create and manage in order to use the template layers option.

I am using one of our locators in AGX find tool set up in a configuration file. The find tool finds the address fine but zooms to what is a "city" zoom extent on our map instead of down closer to the address or intersection. Is there a way to modify the zoom extent in the find tool? If not, would I have to create an add-in modification that zoomed closer? What are others doing about the find zoom extent being out so far for addresses? Thanks.

I have actually tried this using our alias table and a JoinID with and without the above code modifications to the XML. Same results which adds to my confusion. I double checked the alternate table was correct for these records also.

I have attached a Briano's style with some updates. The only difference between the style that I posted before and the style that I am attaching now is that it contains an extra field for the fractional house number. Other than that, I have just included some of the fixes that I found and that will correct the "w vs west" issue. Brad Thanks for fixing the W vs West issue. Unfortunately I have a few other oddities going on in my testing I was hoping to go through with you. I have added a few of our city specific aliases to the xml with mixed results. Most work fine. Here are a few that don't. Primary: N I70 frontage rd Alias: W 48th Ave Won't find any results for W 48th ave Primary: W 58th Ave Alias: W 58th Ave Frontage Rd Score of 19% when using Frontage Rd . Same situation on W 72nd Ave but when using W 72nd Frontage Rd score comes back as 92%. Don't have either example added to xml as site specific aliases. Primary Name: Ralston Rd Alias: W 58th Ave and W 64th Ave This one is tough. County Addresses use both Ralston and W 58th as primary but this locator won't find alias results for Ralston Rd. Only finds alias when address has W 58th Ave (or 64th Ave) as the alias and Ralston as primary. This one is confusing to explain since Ralston runs diagonal across the city and aliases 2 different numbered streets. Seems weird that it works one way but not the other. Alias code below: <alias_def> <alt>ralston rd</alt> <alt>w 58th ave</alt> <alt>w 64th ave</alt> </alias_def> <alias_def> <alt>n I 70 frontage rd</alt> <alt>w 48th ave</alt> </alias_def> Thanks for any insight or assistance. Sargent

We have fractional addresses but not with letters before them, just 1/2. I was going to add a fractional field to our data now that I know about these locators. Before we just had it concatenated to the address field (not used in locator) so we didn't geocode with units or fractions. Now it seems I can do both. Are you saying the the SingleHousewithUnits supports fractions? It seemed to me only Brian's did. So my issue isn't with the fractions yet (as I haven't got the data set up . I was only testing these for units and the pre directional W in Brian's doesn't work. Thanks.

I am trying to use BrianO's USAddresswithUnit that he posted here. However , it is doing something strange on the West pre directional. If I use W in the search it gets a score of 68 if I use West it gets 100, even though our reference data is using W. We only have West directional so I can't tell if it is the other directions too. I also created a locator with Brad's SingleHousewithUnits posted here and the W - West works fine as either gets 100% as it should. I am trying to get Brian's to work since we have fractional addresses. The xml looks the same in the Street Directions area for both, but they don't act the same. Any ideas what is wrong? I am liking the 10 locators, no more alias table to manage. Just need to get the W alias working. Thanks

You guys shouldn't take functionality away from these apps, now I have to start over with another viewer that does intersections while you guys "improve" these. How long would you estimate till they do intersection geocoding again in the U.S. ?

Older versions of Arcgis Online and Explorer Online used to work with Intersection searches. Now they don't appear to (at least in my area) Was there a locator change recently? What locator is being used for these applications? How do I get road intersection searches to work again?

Did that as a first solution already. Also went to a computer that had never even opened the site and it loaded the old legend.

On my arcgis.com map the legend won't update to changes in symbology in the map services in IE 7. Also it doesn't update in the ChromeTwoPanel web application I exported. Legend updates in FF and Chrome browsers. I haven't been able to test IE8 yet. Any ideas why this would be? It says it is "creating legend" but it just pulls in the old legend. I would post the link but I had to change the colors back to the original b/c it was live on my site already. Thanks.
