I am showing a callout on top of a pin.Clicking on a callout i starting an activityForResult and when i get callback from the called activity on my acitvity's onActivityForResult() method i am trying to hide the callout using below code where it returns false even when callout is still visible on the map and i am not able to hide it.While if i try to hide it via same hideCallout() method before starting other activity it works and hides the callout.Please help me why it is not hiding the callout onActivityForResult? /**
* Hides callout
*/
private void hideCallout() {
if (mapPinCallout != null)
Log.e(TAG, "is callout showing :" + mapPinCallout.isShowing()); // returns false
if (mapPinCallout != null && mapPinCallout.isShowing()) {
mapPinCallout.hide();
}

You should not need to manage the movement of the callout once it is set the coordinates with the show() method. Try removing the Callout.setCoordinates() and Callout.refresh() methods. Refer to the SymbolizingResults sample to see how the Callout holds on the initial position. I had already tried removing Callout.setCoordinates() and Callout.refresh() methods but it did work.Is this a bug in the SDK itself?I checked the SymbolizingResults sample and code the same way but not luck.

Hi, can you please provide some additional information just to make sure we are talking about the same thing. This issue may be a duplicate of this on-going post here: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/51928-Callout-doesn-t-move-with-MapView.centerAt - Which version of the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Android are you running? - Are you using a "web map" or your own tiled map service? - Can you provide a snippet of code? -Andy Hi Andy, first of all thanks for the reply.The duplicate post you shared is little different from the my posting.Here i am able to show the call out but while zooming in/out the call out does't position itself with respect to the pin.it stays at the same position. - I am using 10.2 version SDK of Arcgis. - I am using tiled map service(i guess) as i use new ArcGISTiledMapServiceLayer(URL) for showing a map. - below is the code snippet for showing a callout on tapping of the pin. /***
* Shows popup call out on the map pin
*
* @param x
* @param y
*/
private void showCallout(float x, float y) {
int[] uids = mGraphicLayer.getGraphicIDs(x, y, 2);
if (uids != null && uids.length > 0) {
int targetId = uids[0];
Graphic gr = mGraphicLayer.getGraphic(targetId);
mapPinCallout = mArcGisMapView.getCallout();
if (gr != null) {
isSingleTap = true;
String[] content = null;
String[] keys = gr.getAttributeNames();
if (((String) gr.getAttributeValue(keys[0])).contains("-")) {
content = ((String) gr.getAttributeValue(keys[0])).split("-");
} else if (((String) gr.getAttributeValue(keys[0])).contains(",")) {
content = ((String) gr.getAttributeValue(keys[0])).split(",");
y = (float) (Double.parseDouble(keys[0]) - (symbolHt / 2));
}
// Sets Callout style
// mapPinCallout.setStyle(R.xml.countypop);
if (content != null) {
// Sets custom content view to Callout
if (content.length > 1) {
mapPinCallout.show(mArcGisMapView.toScreenPoint(new Point(x, y)), loadView(content[0], content[1]));
} else {
// mapPinCallout.setContent(loadView(content[0], ""));
mapPinCallout.show(mArcGisMapView.toMapPoint(new Point(x, y)), loadView(content[0], ""));
}
}
calloutPoint = mArcGisMapView.toMapPoint(new Point(x, y));
mapPinCallout.setCoordinates(calloutPoint);
mapPinCallout.refresh();
} else {
hideCallout();
}
} else {
hideCallout();
}

Hi All, Is there any way to customize the "current location" (blue circle) icon on the AGSMapview? I want to display it as same blue gradient pin as default Apple's MKMapview pin. Thanks, Sandeep

Hi All, I am drawing a polygon using a graphic (set of polygon points). It is adding to the mapview properly. Now I want to add some pins on the border of the polygon. I am creating a pin using one of the polygon points and adding to the mapview. But strangely, the pin thats been added is not on top of the border of the polygon. But its bit outside a boundary. I have attached a screenshot to illustrate the same. The red points are the ones which are supposed to be added on top of the polygon border. (http://d.pr/i/eOeT) I am wondering whats going wrong. Please help me out. Thanks, Sandeep

Thanks Nimesh for the reply. I already published data as feature service only. But how to edit them through iOS? I am able to see all the pins and polygons in a map which are published as feature service (uploaded from shapefile). But how to access those data from iOS programmatically? Is there are any API's or classes available to fetch them? You need to publish data as feature service (either ArcGIS Online or your own ArcGIS Server) in order to edit from iOS. Regards, Nimesh

Hi All, I created a webmap and uploaded all graphics (pins, polygons) through shapefile in ArcGIS Explorer. Now I am able to load webmap in iOS device using AGSWebMap and its displaying all graphics added through shapefile. When I click on each graphics (pin), its displaying popup with some data. My problem is to modify the data displayed in popup. Is there any way to access the graphics data added to webmap from iOS programmatically. Please help me out. Thanks, Sandeep

Thank you Divesh. Thats very useful. You have 2 options 1) You can author a webmap on ArcGIS.com and add your shapefile feature service as a layer in that map. Then you can open the web map on iOS. or 2) You can directly add the feature service as a feature layer (AGSFeatureLayer) to an AGSMapView component in your ios application. In this scenario, you're not opening a preconfigured web map but instead mashing up individual layers through code.

Hi All, I want to publish services hosted by ArcGIS. As per documentation, (http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#/What_are_ArcGIS_Online_hosted_services/010q0000007z000000/), I like to use "Feature services" by uploading "Shapefile" to publish data. I followed the same procedure explained in documentation (http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#/Hosted_feature_services/010q00000082000000/) and uploaded by "Shapefile" successfully. But how to access the published map data in mobile devices for iOS. Is there are any API's to access my map data? Please help me out as I didnt get proper documentation for this. Thanks, Sandeep

Hi All, I am replacing MKMapView with AGSMapView. My requirement is to add different types of overlays on a map (Circle, Polygon). These can be drawn using MKMapView's classes like MKCircle, MKPolygon etc.. How to achieve the same using ArcGIS API's. Is there are any equivalent classes or any alternative to do this ? Please help. Thanks, Sandeep
