I'd like to be able to get the time stamps of the rasters in a mosaic dataset through the service, so that I can list them in my silverlight app. From perusing the object model, it seems that I can get the names of the fields in the metadata, but not their values. Am I correct in assuming that I simply can't get this information as of version 10.0, or am I missing something? The closest I seem to be able to get is the start and end time of the time extent of the entire mosaic dataset. To be clear, the more general case here is that I am trying to query mosaic dataset metadata through the image service. Is this possible? Thanks. Steve

I have a related issue. I've published a raster as an image service in ArcMap 10. I have both ArcGIS server 10 and Image Server 10. I'm able to see the service in a remote version of ArcMap 10 and ArcMap 9.3. But, when I try to add the service to a silverlight 4 app, it is not displayed on the web map. No error is generated, and I'm able to query properties of the layer in silverlight during runtime. This means the layer is being added. But, nothing is visualized. Is there something I'm missing about publishing the service? Should there be some sort of legend for symbolizing associated with either the service, or included in the silverlight client app? Note that when I add the same raster to an MXD and publish the MXD as a map service, it visualized just fine in the silverlight app. Thanks. Steve Bourne

I'd like to be able to sample values from a raster for multiple points. Currently, I'm accomplishing this by running a loop through my points, firing an idenfitytask for each point to a map service. This goes pretty slowly, as you might imagine. I'd like to be able to either 1) use a multipoint for the identify operation, or 2) get an actual pixelblock object that just gives me the raster values for the section of the raster that intersects the extent of all of my points. Either would work for me. I tried to send a multipoint as the geometry parameter of the identify task, but that gave zero results. I can't find much in the way of samples of how to use image services at all in silverlight, let alone getting pixel blocks from them. I'm using silverlight 4, ArcGIS Server 10 to create map and image services, and MS Visual Web Developer 10 to create my application. Thanks. Steve
