This didn't work until I deleted node_modules and package-lock.json. Now I'm good to go.

I'm working on an Angular 14 application which was using AMD modules via the CDN. I recently changed the app to use ES modules instead. The app works properly but I noticed a significant change in the size of main.js from 773 KB (AMD) to 3.9 MB (ES): I didn't make any other changes. Wondering why the size of main.js increased after converting to ES modules and how to slim it back down? @AndyGup ? Thanks!

Closing this issue which is being caused by a bug with MapView.hitTest. The spinners are being displayed where the map was previously being clicked because there is a delayed execution of hitTest. The bug was introduced in version 4.23: https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/4.23/#mapviewhittest-improvements.

The action bar section doesn't stick to the bottom of the popup. For instance, when you open a popup near the top of the map it is placed at the top above the content section. See video and reproduce at https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/sample-code/popuptemplate-function/. Is this the intended behavior? How does one prevent?

Actually newing up SnappingOptions produces the same TS error because the layer property on FeatureSnappingLayerSource is not defined (as originally posted). const options = new SnappingOptions({
enabled: true,
featureSources: [new FeatureSnappingLayerSource({ layer: this._layer }]
}); Error: Object literal may only specify known properties, and 'layer' does not exist in type 'FeatureSnappingLayerSourceProperties'.

The ES Module FeatureSnappingLayerSource produces an incorrect typing error when setting SnappingOptions on Sketch: this._layer = new GraphicsLayer();
this._mapView.map.add(this._layer);
this._sketchVM = new SketchViewModel({
view: this._mapView,
layer: this._layer,
snappingOptions: {
enabled: true,
featureSources: [{
layer: this._layer /** type error **/
}]
}
}); Type error: No overload matches this call. Overload 1 of 2, '(properties?: SketchViewModelProperties): SketchViewModel', gave the following error. Type '{ layer: esri.GraphicsLayer; }' is not assignable to type 'FeatureSnappingLayerSourceProperties'. Object literal may only specify known properties, and 'layer' does not exist in type 'FeatureSnappingLayerSourceProperties'. Overload 2 of 2, '(properties?: SketchViewModelProperties): SketchViewModel', gave the following error. Type '{ layer: esri.GraphicsLayer; }' is not assignable to type 'FeatureSnappingLayerSourceProperties'. Object literal may only specify known properties, and 'layer' does not exist in type 'FeatureSnappingLayerSourceProperties'.ts(2769) The error occurs because FeatureSnappingLayerSourceProperties type does not have a 'layer' property. The same code above works with AMD which has no type checking. Works when adding TS ignore: this._sketchVM = new SketchViewModel({
view: this._mapView,
layer: this._layer,
snappingOptions: {
enabled: true,
featureSources: [{
// @ts-ignore: Type definition bug
layer: this._layer
}]
}
}); Requesting this be fixed in a future release.

Found out from Dev Summit that this is currently not supported but is being worked on by ESRI with a possible beta release June 2018.

When manually publishing a web layer in ArcGIS Pro there is an option to specify registered data as the source instead of using the ArcGIS Data Store in a hosted scenario. The desire is to automate this exact manual process. However, I'm finding all APIs falling short because they only support hosted layers. In particular, ArcPy 3x: CreateWebLayerSDDraft ArcGIS API for Python: arcgis.gis.Item.publish() Portal REST API: <url>/publish All three do not support non-hosted layers, such as registered data. Still looking into arcgis.ContentManager.create_service()- it doesn't explicitly say one way or another whether this supports registered data. Do any APIs, or combination of them, support publishing web layers with underlying registered data from an aprx? I can't image why this wouldn't be exposed (?).

I have an ArcSDE layer added to a map in an aprx. I want to change its connection to a different ArcSDE gdb using a *.sde connection file. The dataset name is identical in both enterprise GDBs. After running the snippet below the layer's data source remain the same. I realize I could alter the dictionary instead, but that is not ideal as the password is encrypted in the *.sde file. Any insights on how to get this working? Is it even supported? ... map = aprx.listMaps()[0] lyr = map.listLayers()[0] lyr.updateConnectionProperties(lyr.connectionProperties, r"C:\foo\enterprisegdb.sde") ...

Thanks Vince for the explanation that all clients will honor indexes created with either ArcGIS or DBMS tools. ESRI documentation should make this clear as it indicates to exclusively use ArcGIS.

Let's say you have some feature classes and tables that are registered with a GDB but are not not registered as versioned. You create spatial and column indexes on them within the DBMS (Not ArcCatalog). Will ESRI clients like ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, etc recognize and honor those indexes? In other words, is ArcCatalog required to create indexes for ESRI clients? If you don't use ArcCatalog will performance suffer?

I am looking to use one of the ESRI curated vector tile basemaps (https://www.arcgis.com/home/group.html?id=30de8da907d240a0bccd5ad3ff25ef4a#overview ) in an offline application. Export services were created for raster tile basemaps (i.e. http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=e384f5aa4eb1433c92afff09500b073d). However, I don't see a service or API support to create a vtpk from an ArcGIS Online Vector Basemap. Is this functionality coming?
