Thanks everyone! We contacted our ESRI Customer Service Rep and they had to make 10.8.1 available to us in the License ESRI Products tool. Once this was done, everything went smoothly!

Hi there, I'm trying to create a license file from My ESRI for my 10.8.1 ArcGIS Portal, but unfortunately only 10.9 and 11.0 are included. Has anyone found a way to generate a 10.8.1 license file? Thanks!

I recently attempted to utilize a fancy, new Arcade expression in an old AGOL web mapping application of mine based on the Basic Viewer template and found that, though the expression worked fine in the underlying web map, the expression would NOT appear in the pop-up in my web mapping application. I'm assuming this has to do with the fact that the web mapping application was based on old code that did not support Arcade expressions. To get around this issue, I was forced to re-create the application with the Basic Viewer template (a bit tedious) and consequently broke up the usage statistics between pre-Arcade-supporting and post-Arcade-supporting applications. ESRI Support confirmed that this was my only option. This idea post really consists of TWO ideas: 1) Could we please have a way to upgrade older web mapping applications so that they support cool functionality added in later AGOL releases? 2) Could we have the ability to migrate usage statistics from one web mapping application to another when we are forced, for whatever reason, to create a new web mapping application?

Collector is sometimes limited if you want to create an app with a bit more functionality (e.g., add custom themes/widgets), but it DOES allow the user to collect features using the device location. If you use the out-of-the-box Edit widget in Web App Builder, you can't currently collect points/vertices with the device location ... it's necessary to place the point on the screen using aerials and/or the My Location widget marker. And hopefully your fingers are nimble enough to get the point right where you want it to be. I would love to see a "Get Point From GPS" button on the toolbar of the out-of-the-box Edit widget.

We have several Python scripts that perform daily geoprocessing tasks. Since geoprocessing history is automatically logged, the GDB_ITEMS table in our geodatabases bloats considerably and affects performance significantly. I discovered the effect on performance by first taking the workaround code suggested by ESRI and modifying it so that I could run it at the geodatabase level to affect all objects in the geodatabase (the original workaround would take a VERY long time to actually perform if I had to go to each feature class individually). Once I had cleaned up over two years of geoprocessing history from the GDB_ITEMS table of all of my geodatabases, I found that: 1) The reserved disk space for all of the SDE databases on my SQL Server dropped by nearly 11 Gb. 2) My automation scripts run MUCH faster. For instance, one job that performs a DB compression and updates statistics went from taking 4 hours and 13 minutes to taking 8 minutes! Another script that deletes several point feature classes and recreates them using X/Y coordinates downloaded from a business database went from taking 2 hours and 25 minutes to taking 15 minutes. Having some method to manage logging to the GDB_ITEMS table would be an excellent enhancement!
