As an admin of an organization with a few hundred content creators, and as an experienced ExB app developer, I definitely agree that ExB is NOT a replacement for WAB. It is too complicated, confusing and inefficient for use by the majority of our creators. And even after all this time it still lacks basic web mapping functionality. We need a well-designed product like Web AppBuilder. I was recently reminded of just how much better WAB is in many respects when I needed to go back to WAB just to provide a customized scalebar. And Instant Apps are just as chaotic - it seems as if numerous dev teams are working in isolation to create redundant yet incomplete templates rather than integrating them into one useful product. Our organization, with over 1500 apps, has just a couple production Instant Apps because the templates rarely include the necessary functions. You find one function in one template, and another in a different template, but not both together. Esri needs to integrate these functions into one useful product as they have done in Web AppBuilder.

Our organization needs this as well. Not only for proper branding, but for content security via whitelisting. If you add experience.arcgis.com as a whitelisted referrer URL for a secured service, ANY experience app can access it. And with Safari and perhaps other browsers now only allowing you to whitelist domain and subdomains, rather than specific app URLs, this situation limits our ability to use ExB.

The Info Summary widget in Web AppBuilder automatically displays the popup, and we need that in ExB also.

I definitely agree, we need this too! We have a custom Member Manager role that can create accounts and transfer content, but not otherwise change the Organization (delete all content, change security settings, share content as public, etc.). Not being able to create new folders in member accounts is a significant limitation when transferring content from someone who has left the organization, to someone new. For example, you can't keep Survey123 forms organized in folders as they were originally created. I really wish Esri would start supporting ArcGIS Online for use in large organizations. After all these years it is still missing the member management and content publishing workflows for use in organizations where it is more than a one-person show. For example, and similar to this, only a full admin can share another account's content as public.

We would like "Viewer" user types to be able to view forms in a web browser, even if they can't submit data. That is because we have several supervisors and other staff who need to view and approve draft forms before they are shared as public. As it is, a Viewer can open a form in a browser, but it is locked, so they can't expand question groups to see all form elements.

The legend (and other) popup tool box windows don't need to be as large as they are. On mobile devices, they take up most of the screen and are not formatted correctly. That is particularly a problem when the tools are opened by default. For example: We need all of the Instant App templates to work well on mobile devices. They should be designed mobile-first, and clearly aren't.

Add an option for including a legend in layer lists. It is confusing and makes the UI more complex to have separate tools for turning layers on and off, and viewing what those layers represent. That would also solve the problem of listing layers in the layer list that you don't want users interacting with (in a webmap you can configure what layers show in the legend, but you can't do that for the layer list).

In our organization, authoritative publicly shared content gets transferred to a specific account. We would like that account to be able to own content, but not edit or delete it. If the account was ever compromised, not being able to edit or delete content would help protect the hundreds of items that the account owns. People who create and maintain the public items can do so because they are members of groups that can update all items, so we don’t need the actual owner of the items to be able to update them. There are some update tasks that only an item’s owner or admin can do, such as overwrite layers, and create views. So we already need to leave ownership with the item’s creator in some cases, or have admins do those tasks, so adding this an option wouldn’t make this workflow any better or worse. As an admin, it would appear that you can set things up this way by disabling the “Allow member to create, edit, and delete their own content” privilege. But if you do that, the account can no long own items either. To make this work, even though the account should never be able to edit or delete, we would need it to be able to be a member of “update” groups so that it can share its items with the update groups, some of which it owns.

Another reason for supporting this idea... Esri recommends creating a customized Publisher role in order to grant the Create with Update Capabilities privilege to those who will be creating Hub initiatives, so they can create initiative core teams: See: https://doc.arcgis.com/en/hub/initiatives/initiative-basics.htm You can create initiatives (site only and content group) if you are assigned the default Publisher role. To create an initiative with engagement features, you must have a custom role based on the default Publisher role, plus the following administrative privileges: The Create with update capabilities (Groups) privilege allows you to create a core team. The update capability means that anyone who's a member of the group (core team members) can update any item shared to the group. The Assign Members (Groups) privilege allows you to add members directly to the core team without sending an invitation to their email. This privilege is recommended because it enables you to immediately share content with new core team or supporting team members. The next time that they sign in to ArcGIS Hub, they can read their notifications to know which team they've been added to and see any items that have been shared with the group. The Make groups available to public (Sharing) privilege allows you to create events.

Our agency has hundreds of forestry, wildlife, parks and law enforcement staff who need a reference map, and to occasionally capture and view points and routes locally on their device, but do not need to be monitored. Most of the bureaus those staff work for recently evaluated options and decided to adopt Avenza in part because of the additional cost needed to record and view routes in Field Maps, which they see as a capability that exists in pretty much every other mobile mapping and GPS app, including free ones. Those decisions will have implications for our entire mapping platform because it will drive which software is used for creating offline maps and managing the data layers used to build them, along with the workflows for occasionally exporting the points and routes for updating operational data layers. I believe that seeing temporary breadcrumbs would have been a welcome addition for some users and I think it’s a good idea. Mostly though what I have heard is that they want to be able to store and retrieve a previous route for their own reference, and to occasionally share them in the field with others using AirDrop or similar method when responding to an incident (rescue, fire, tip, etc).

I agree, and it would be great if the online-only layers kept working when the device is online (e.g. weather services, vector tile surrogates used for pop-ups , etc)

As the admin for our organization I support this idea. Another problem with adding it or any other "admin" privilege to a custom role is that the role cannot then be selected when a new account is created, and it cannot be used as a default role.

My understanding is that the special relationship between an AGOL organization and it’s related Hub Community organization is supposed to allow Hub Community accounts to be a member of AGOL “update” groups. Currently however, Hub Community accounts can only be invited to Hub Core Team “update” groups, and can be invited only by using a Hub initiative’s Team page. That’s a problem because we have “update” groups used for multiple initiatives, and collaboration groups for which an “initiative” app has not been created. One such use case is having Esri solution engineers assist with projects. When you try to invite an account to an Update group, the option to invite people outside the organization is grayed out, with a message saying: “For groups that allow other group members to update all items in the group, you can only invite members of your organization”.
