It would be great if there was a simple way (button) to pause all attribute rules so that field calculations or other processes can be done. Right now doing any table calculation is extremely slow when there are attribute rules. I have 24 attribute rules in my address point file and in order to pause them I have to stop each one individually which takes a lot of extra time.

The problem was with the name of the file. "Org_" is a reserved file name at 10.0, or in other words it is seen as a hidden system table and cannot be displayed. This has been fixed for 10.1. Thanks for the help on this Lance!

Can you zip the file geodatabase and post it (or send it to lshipman@esri.com). I'll take a look and find out what the problem is. What version of ArcGIS are you using? I can send you the file but it's too large to email (22.6 MB). Any other options? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. - Scott

Try closing and reopening ArcCatalog. I have been annoyed with ArcCatalog caching the layers that exist when I first connect but does not refresh them until after I close and re-open. Even the refresh command does not update the cache, just reloads the display from current cache. I've tried refreshing and have also tried working on multiple computers..... does not seem to solve the problem. I'm fairly certain there is something about this particular geodatase that is causing the problem. I don't seem to have this problem with other geodatabases. Thanks for the advice! - Scott

jborgion, Thanks for the reply and yes I am exporting to a feature class, not a layer file. I have tried refreshing ArcCatalog and have tried on multiple computers as well. Nothing seems to fix the problem with this geodatabase. Too bad there is no way to tell what's different about this geodatabase. - Scott

Does anyone have a suggestion as to why an exported layer from a file geodatabase would become "invisible" in a new file geodatabase? I've exported this layer numerous times and for some reason it just won't show up in the new geodatabase. When exporting the layer in ArcMap I can see the layer but it's not visible in ArcCatalog nor is is visible when you go to add a new layer. ArcCatalog acts as if the layer is there but it just doesn't show it. The problem can be viewed in the attached screen shot.
