Hello Avinash, I did not realize that you had made a separate post till I followed you. Thanks for the script. Now I can see what you have done. I used urllib2 to access the right server URL for https/ssl enabled services. Regards Subu

James, Have you found that services need time to stop or that ArcGIS Server needs to recover before the next stop or start request is sent in. I was testing the stop functionality with a large number of services and soon found that I need to introduce a delay if I can expect ArcGIS Server to respond to each request in a reliable fashion. So this meant that I had to increase the token's expiration time as well as insert a time delay to ensure that the server is ready to respond. Otherwise I get an urllib error saying that the process has timed out. Still early days in terms of using this in production in our org. Thanks Subu

I agree with Rebecca that being able to hide/encrypt or encapsulate the admin user credentials in a secure fashion is the most important piece that is missing. Once that is in place, being able to able to access secured services, https, service status and all others all become more useful. In fact looking at the this thread and the contributions, most of the rest has been achieved and folks are willing to share with the community. Thanks Subu

Jamie - we are using standard orthorectified imagery. Tiff files in a network folder. No product definition. Usually define and build overviews separately after creating mosaic dataset and adding rasters Subu.

I could not get an answer from esri on Server licensing to plan a deployment in AWS or Azure that makes use of the cloud flexibility such as resizing number of cores per server or by cluster. "No of cores per license" is an outdated model for the cloud. One core could be very feeble or very powerful. If anybody has had better luck planning or actually deploying, please share. Any desktop licensing hiccups are much cheaper to recover from than an enormous server licensing bill.

I feel esri server licensing is more confusing or unexplained for the cloud. How does esri compute how many cores are running for how long. I could want to have 40 cores running server for 2 days and then downsize to 4 cores. Repeat this cycle every weekend for processing. How will that translate to license usage calculation per month or by annually? Desktop licensing either by named user or the traditional per seat licensing model might actually be a better fit and easier to understand or plan with for the smaller esri customers. Subu

Tom, We are also facing the same issue on 10.3.1 ArcGIS server. I was hoping it was fixed in 10.4.1 as this bug was reported in the 10.4.1. issues addressed list under the geocoding services topic. If you are still seeing it, esri needs to be notified. BUG-000093169 The ArcGIS for Server 10.3.1 US Dual Range Addresses Geocode Service fails to return ‘findAddressCandidates’ results when the address does not include the zip code, match with no zones is set to ‘yes’, and the location parameter is provided and close to the actual feature with certain datasets. I do use a named user model. We are just testing Pro for basic tasks. Concurrent licensing for Pro has not been implemented in our org yet. Is there a specific way to verify this antivirus interference? Just turning it off is not an option. There has to be way to prove the case and recommend specific changes to convince security teams to make a change in configuration.

Windows 7 with 24GB of RAM on a standard GIS workstation setup. ArcMap 10.3.1 runs fine. Data is stored on the standard network locations - nothing unusual. ArcMap, ArcGIS Server all are fine with the current setup. ArcGIS Pro is the only problem app. I keep a pretty clean machine as far system crud is concerned. Antivirus is my only suspect but I have no control over turning that off. So that is why I was asking if others are facing similar issues. It appears mosaic dataset related tools appear to be singularly affected for me as related to ArcGIS Pro. Thanks Subu

M U Please note the following bugs/enhancement requests . You might want to check if they affect you. BUG-000086266-The resampling and resamplingTolerance property of ArcGIS TiledMapService layer does not display layers beyond its defined LODs. BUG-000085544-Cached Map Service doesn't resample consistently in all scales in ArcGIS Online ENH-000088462 : The ArcGIS API for JS documentation does not state that for resampling option for published tiled map service on ArcGIS Online custom LODs can not be used. The above issues has really affected us as we use our own custom state plane based tiling scheme and we are unable to zoom in between or beyond LODs even if they have been defined in the tiling scheme. We were developing in JSAPI 3.1X.

Eduardo, As Jon Lynch says, Use a common text editor like Notepad++ and then add an XML plugin like XML tools and prettify the XML and you will see the keys and values. Tried to paste the xml examples, the editor messes it up. As Jonathan Quinn says, I am tending towards editing the json than XML, it seems less clutter to deal with. But I can see why you want to do this - have a map service published as you want right from the start.
