Hi Paul, Same here. I upgraded a customer AE base deployment test environment from 10.5.1 to 10.6.1 and it broke the authentication for ONLY the Collector for ArcGIS (IOS) using a Per-App VPN solution (airwatch). Explorer for ArcGIS still working fine as well as connecting Collector to another AE base deployment still running 10.5.1.

Hi Jonathan, this is great news! Just to be sure, did your testing include the major desktop browsers as well as the browsers on various mobile devices? If so you saved me time 🙂 Looking forward to see this change in future releases.

from: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/install/windows/making-a-user-connection-to-arcgis-server-in-arcgis-for-desktop.htm (mentioned from version 10.5 and above) Note: If the ArcGIS Server site you're connecting to is federated with a portal, provide portal credentials. If your portal uses SAML authentication, you cannot connect directly to the federated server from ArcMap.

Same here, adding site to trusted sites does not work. Any other thoughts? Customers find this very annoying!

Hi Ihab, the problem (really) starts when you are using feature access enabled map services in ArcGIS Online. When you use Web Tier authentication for your AGS server you will get this error message: "layer seems to be on an internal network and are not accessible to arcgis.com". You will get your map service visible but you will not be able to edit. hope this helps. kind regards, Sander

Hi All, Today I ran in the mentioned problem "Unable to access the authentication service" while adding a secured AGS from my internal AGS (10.2.2) server not using SSL. This AGS is using token based authentication. Worked fine with Chrome 39.0.2171.95 and Firefox 34.0.5 but NOT in IE 11. After reading this and several other posts I realized it could not be CORS related. After puzzling for several hours I found what was causing this problem with IE 11. It turned out I had added my web servers FQDN in the 'local Intranet' 'advanced' 'sites' option of IE. After removing this entry from the local intranet websites list it DID work fine in IE as well!.Putting this entry back broke IE again. Sander ten Arve
