Hi, I'm developing a mapping application with Flex API (application about archeological sites). My services are developed with ArcGIS Server 10. I'd like to reuse an example of interface developed with Flex. I saw some application in http://help.arcgis.com/EN/webapi/flex/gallery.html. However, there is no code available for reuse. Do you know any link to a complete example of flex interface? Thanks

Hi, I'm working with ArcGIS server 10. I developed a model builder that contains "point distance" task. The model was added to a map (.mxd) that uses two feature classes. I tried to execute the services using ArcGIS Services Directory: as inputs, I put the paths of my two feature classes (as I did with one of them with the "buffer" model which works). However, the server shows an error and asks to check your parameters. In Arcgis resource help (Key concepts for geoprocessing services) it says that "Feature Class input is supported indirectly with the Feature Set data type". Have you any idea why my service does not work? Thanks, Tarek

I used Firebug, and I noticed that no call to the server was made. Any clue, or any example about how to trace the sever call in submitJob method? Here's the actionScript code used to consume the GP service (based on a .tbx) Tarak

Ivan, I used another GP service with Erase task (called Effacer) so the url won't contain any space. However, I still don't get any result (I still get an output when I use the rest interface (see figures)). Thanks, Tarek

Robert, There is no error in the code. However, when I execute it from Flash Builder (even with the modifications you suggested), I still get no output. I assume the output layer of the buffer operation should be in the arcgisjobs (the output of the GP server defined with ArcGIS Server manager). Another thing; tha service task url contains space, do you think that causes a problem? see code in attached figure. Thanks, Tarek

Ivan, I still don't get any result (in Task directory) as I get it from the rest interface (see first figure in my first thread). Here is the new code : .. private var in_features:String; private var buffer_distance_or_field:LinearUnit; private function executer():void { var params:Object = new Object(); params.in_features = "C:\Donnees\Adriatic\Adriatic.gdb\Situation_Geo\Sites_archeo"; params.buffer_distance_or_field = { "distance" : 2.678, "units" : "esriMiles" }; gp.submitJob(params); // since it's an asynchronous task } Thanks, Tarek

Hello, I am a beginner to ArcGis for Flex API. I used a simple application from Esri Web site (http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/flex/samples/index.html#/Dynamic_Map/01nq0000003m000000). I am using Flash builder 4.5 IDE. I am trying to execute my local Web service (published with ArcGis server 10) instead of the Esri one. I only modified the URL of the Web service (http://local:8399/arcgis/rest/services/geoprocessing/nouvMapService1/MapServer). The execution goes successfully from the Flash builder environment. However, when I try to execute the resulting html file (that wraps the swf) from the Tomcat Web server, it works for the Esri Web service, but not for my local one. P.S. I added the crossdomain.xml file (found in http://server.arcgisonline.com/crossdomain.xml) in the same directory where my service is stored (C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Server10.0\server\user\cfg\geoprocessing). Could you help me figure out what I need to do ? Thx. Tarek

Hi, I'm using ArcGIS server 10 for java to develop web application. I published a map as a service using arcgis manager. The following link: http://serverIP/arcgis/rest/services/serviceTest/Canada4C/MapServer. Accessing this link through the browser shows its description (Layers, spatial reference, etc.). How can I access that service and visualize the map? Also, I am using ArcObjects APIs for Java. I use Eclipse to develop java code. How can I display the map layers on the browser from my java code? Thanks.
