Hi Ross, Esri does not provide the chart data. You can purchase this through Admiralty Maritime Data Solutions by finding a local distributor https://www.admiralty.co.uk/how-to-buy?title=&field_new_avcsonline_value%5B1%5D=1 There are vector as well as raster options but it typically comes down to the license agreement and what you are trying to do with the data. Are you looking for vector data to load into a geodatabase for analysis? Or are you looking for raster data as a web service that you can use as a basemap? Here's a public site from NOAA that displays S-57 ENC datasets as web services. You can search NOAA ENC Online in ArcGIS Pro's catalogue pane to load this MapServer into your project as an example. This service uses the ArcGIS Maritime Server Extension. The ArcGIS Maritime Server Extension can also load the UKHO AVCS S-63 datasets if you require hosting them yourself. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks, Tom

Hello, Great to hear that you have successfully extended the ArcGIS Maritime desktop solution to include your extra objects and attributes. If by viewing in ArcGIS Pro, you mean the ENC Layer, there is no current capability to extend the portrayal. However, you can extend the the S57DataDictionary.xml and S52 lookup tables. By default, they are located at C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\Resources\ENC You can add your new objects and attributes to the S57DataDictionary.xml. This will allow them to be recognized when using the Explore tool. You can update the lookup tables to include your new objects and potential attribute combinations as well. By default the new objects will display as magenta "?" symbols if not found in those tables. Since you are unable to add new symbols, you will have to use an existing symbol in the lookup table to display the feature. If you require more detailed steps on how to do this, then please email the maritime team at maritime@esri.com and I can assist. As for ArcGIS Maritime Server, you can extend and add new S-52 symbols. Similar to the ENC Layer in Pro, you have the S57DataDictionary.xml and S52 lookup tables. By default, they are located at C:\arcgisserver\directories\maritimeserver\maritimechartservice\controlfiles As for S-52 symbols, you will need to create them yourself, we do not have an S-52 symbol editor, nor do I know where one exists. I do know other people have created symbols and plugged them into our solution. Some just took an existing symbol and modified the values. My recommendation is to do that and review the S-52 documentation on symbology for guidance. S-52 PresLib Ed 4.0.3 Part I_Clean.pdf and S-52 PresLib Ed 4.0.3 Part I Addendum_Clean.pdf. Refer to https://iho.int/en/standards-and-specifications if you don't have those documents. Once you create the new symbols you just put them in the symshow folder, default location is C:\arcgisserver\directories\maritimeserver\maritimechartservice\controlfiles\S52PresentationLibrary\symshow and link them to your new entries in the S-52 lookup tables you modified. C:\arcgisserver\directories\maritimeserver\maritimechartservice\controlfiles\S52PresentationLibrary\lookup If you are adding new S-57 Objects, those objects when entered into the S-52 lookup tables will need to be assigned a view group. If you create new view groups, then you will need to make sure those values are also added to the S52DisplayProperties.xml file at the bottom in the ViewingGroups sections. Then verify they are in an existing range under the ParameterGroup name = ViewOverGroups. This defines the layers that are created when you start the Maritime Chart Service's map service. If they are not part of one of the layers, then those features cannot be turned off in the display. This is all part of S-52 and defined in the documents I mentioned. In order to see the new symbols, you must delete and rebuild your senc files. If you require more detailed steps on how to do this, then please email the maritime team at maritime@esri.com and I can assist. Thanks

The NOAA service is still using 10.9.1 without any updates, so there is an issue displaying the list of layers that allows you to turn off land. Users that have 10.9.1 ArcGIS Maritime Server Extension need to apply Update 1 to fix this. You can use our demo service from https://esriho.maps.arcgis.com/home/index.html This location has many sample applications a services that we maintain. Since you are already in Pro, just search ArcGIS Online in Catalog for nsdemo enc mapserver as shown in the image. Add this to your map and you will be able to control the layers. Note that if you have your own service published using Maritime Chart Service, then you can customize that list of layers to have greater control over the features you can turn on/off. The 13 layers you see in our demo service are the default list of layers.

Has the issue been resolved for you? I see that you are able to view the sample WMS in ArcGIS Pro. If it is not resolved, please check the SOE description in ArcGIS Server Manager and let me know what version 10.9.1 has been deployed. ArcGIS Maritime Server extension has released update 4. The update value will be in the description. Here's an example from our 11.1 release. Here's the link for the latest update https://support.esri.com/en-us/patches-updates/2023/arcgis-10-9-1-maritime-server-extension-update-4-8099

What version of ArcGIS Pro (with patches) and ArcGIS Maritime server extension with patches are you using in this scenario? Can you load the associated MapServer endpoint into your map and access the display properties? In your Catalog pane, through Portal, search ArcGIS Online using "esrimaritime wms" and load the ChartOnDemand ENC WMS service. Does that work?

Hello, I just sent you a private message to connect on this issue. I believe it has to do with two incompatible file structures that are causing our cataloging process to miss some of the update files. In either case I'll need to discuss this over the phone to work through a few scenarios with you. Thanks, Tom

Hi Russell, I manage the ArcGIS Maritime server extension that you are using and would be happy to help answer any additional questions you might have. It appears that you have been able to add our endpoints now. Since we are a Server Object Extension (SOE), our MapServer and WMSServer endpoints are further down from the parent map service. You should be able to add the WMSServer from Maritime Chart Service (MCS) to any OCG WMS compliant system. You can also reach me direct using our maritime@esri.com alias and I'm happy to assist via a conference call as well if you have additional questions about our capabilities.

The NOAA ENC Online uses the ArcGIS Maritime server extension to publish those services. Those services are not able to be taken offline. For users who want the same richness in functionality are encouraged to implement S-57 support in Runtime. This will allow you to load the same S-57 (ENC) datasets natively into your application and work offline. Leland Snyder (leland.snyder@noaa.gov) from NOAA is the owner of NOAA ENC Online and would be interested in hearing your use case for taking this service offline https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=5cbd464c75a3444592f1dbd28d04af98 NOAA is looking into creating a tiled service from ENC Online that would be available for offline use.

Hi Mingi, There are a few options depending on your specific needs. 1. As long as those S-57 datasets aren't encrypted with S-63 you can load them into ArcGIS using ArcGIS Maritime This solution is primarily for production but can be used for many other purposes as well. 2. In ArcMap you have the Esri S-57 Viewer add-on. This allows you to view S-57 datasets in ArcMap. Publishing services is not supported. S-63 encrypted datasets are not supported. 3. If you have S-63 encrypted data or require web services, then you will need to use ArcGIS Maritime Server Extension There is also an additional webinar about the extension. Please let me know if you have additional questions. Tom

Hi Giorgio, I hope you are doing well. In the past, C-MAP only provided their propriety C-98 formatted ENC datasets that required a plugin for ArcMap. Now we have ArcGIS Maritime Server Extension (Maritime Chart Service MCS) customers using C-MAP data. MCS only supports standard S-57/S-63 datasets, so C-MAP must be providing that option now. If your customer requires the use of S-63 encrypted datasets, they will still be required to use MCS to publish map services and bring those into ArcGIS Pro.
