Can you provide specifics? There is a whole bucket of questions that would need to be answered to provide context such as date of collection, completeness, expected data quality/granularity, equipment, many others, etc... Proving data quality can be a huge rabbit hole to drop into. My personal thought is that if the Lidar was collected in a single project with quality reports available, I would trust that the most since lidar is direct measurement. If the lidar came from multiple projects over years the accuracy would be a bit more suspect. Cheers! Tom

First off, may I ask a question? was the image collection done under some sort of flight controller software like esri's offerings https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-reality/platform/drone-mapping ? The bounding boxes appear to have variable overlap that could through things off. The mission planning and flight execution modules are pretty good. Unfortunately ArcGIS Pro does not have the modules for generating orthophotos. That is their Drone2Map product https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-drone2map/overview If you don't have access to a D2M license you could try some open source products that can be easily searched for. Cheers! Tom

Agreed totally!! I use that all the time and very frustrating to jump out for standard file maintenance activities that pretty much every one else supports and the world is used to. It appears they did a 'roll your own' dialog rather than supporting with standard Windows File Explorer dialogs with extensions for the esri specific stuff like db connections, etc...

Hello all, I recently had the opportunity to consult with another agency on their GIS program after someone left. Opening projects to try understand things became tedious after the first few so put together 2 quick notebook routines to a) open all file geodatabases and provide a quick inventory and b) open up every project and inventory maps and layouts. Both write to a delimited text field so I can pull into excel and evaluate. I thought maybe they might be useful to someone else so figured I would share. Regards, Tom

Do you have access to either the esri World Geocoder or a locally constructed locator with either address points or street centerline ranges? There are probably faster ways to do this but this is my method. Also check out https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-questions/measuring-distance-from-points-within-a-polygon-to/m-p/1236137#M62821 1 - Get your reference point for the polygon (centroid, etc) and calculate geometry to store X,Y location and address as fields in the attribute table 2 - Export polygon attribute table to table making sure a reference value back to the polygon as well as XX,Y, and address data 3 - Geocode table created in step 2 making sure to store all data. 4 - Use XY to Line Geoprecessing tool to create lines with reference and geocoded coordinates as end points. This also has the benefit of creating a fishbone dataset that might show crossing lines for bad addresses. Alternatively if the X/Y values are projected as opposed to lat/lon maybe just use Pythagorean distance calc in python. Tom

I am running an unshared locator on the network. Yes, just copy and paste the files then don't forgot to load the local copy in your project. Maybe also remove the network copy from the project as well.

I'm currently running 3.2.1 with a network locator and not having your particular problem. As a troubleshooting step, are you in a position to indulge support's concern and thus prove or disprove their hypothesis? Could you copy the locator to a local folder on a few of the problem machines for a week and isolate the network concern? If you still have the problem, it's not the network. No problem suggests that your normal IT support may need to engage for resolution. While all software vendors everywhere will first point to resources outside their control to wrap up a call quickly, many times there are reasons for their position so it may be some merit - a network resource has multiple points of possibilities that can be causing problem. Did IT do anything that may have changed the network resource (or the network path) in some fashion... I'm also digging through a similar problem though with a different software so vendor external concerns are not uncommon. Regards, Tom

Hello, Is it possible to create a feature class of a bookmark bkmx file or otherwise symbology to a collection of bookmarks? I received a bookmark file from colleagues that have duplicate entries when reviewed. I would like to visualize the bookmarks in some fashion to weed out duplicates and thus speed up the review process. Thanks for any advice. Tom

Agreed @SeaRM - just ran into this issue today for both shapefile and link issues. New Vendor wants shapefile with pics. No go. If you are going to do hyperlink route make sure of the longevity of the link and a backup. Old project vendor delivered gdb data in 2020 with links to now defunct file sharing service but client found media delivered with report that had backups of photos.

Sorry, not on machine to do sample code. Why not just use the text replace function? Replace('Monroe County', ' County', '') Grab the leading space to County -> _County then replace with empty value https://developers.arcgis.com/arcade/function-reference/text_functions/#replace

The short answer is no - https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/manage-data/create-locator.htm However, you can submit updates to World Geocoder - https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/how-to-provide-feedback-on-esri-basemaps-and-the-arcgis-000011831 I can see their line of thinking on this in the hosted environment. Manage bursty computational resources like locators where everyone would want 3 of them. Serving tiles is pretty easy.
