I'm challenged with creating an elevation image service for an enterprise portal not connected to the internet. To achieve this, I have downloaded the (Esri) *.mrf world elevation dataset and this works like a charm in Pro (2.8). Publishing this dataset to an elevation image service generates no errors but when adding the dataset as the 'ground layer' to the Scene viewer in the enterprise portal, there is no elevation. Any suggestions?

I would recommend buying something that has a good feel (keyboard, mousepad, screen) to it as you'll probably be spending quite some time on it. If you're traveling a lot weight, battery life and robustness will be relevant to you as well. Specs above are what you would typically buy for GIS/data science and the Surface book 3 is on my short list as well: it is one of the best machines currently available. One recommendation to definitely consider is using two physical harddisks: one for OS, one for storage (massive difference). Good luck shopping!

Does ArcGIS Pro (running 1.2) support hatches like ArcMap: If no (which is my guess), any info on if and/or when this functionality will be introduced in ArcGIS Pro? Thanx in advance.

You might want to look into X-Ray for ArcGIS - not sure if it works on 10.0 though.

What would really be beneficial to ArcGIS Online from my point of view, would be adding the possibility to share content with 'everyone' while using some form of basic password protection (password protected sharing for users without organizational account). Other cloud services (OneDrive for example) offer similar functionality. The lack of this functionality is pretty much what keeps me from using ArcGIS Online for sharing content.

X-Ray for ArcCatalog seems to work just fine on 10.3 when installing by double-clicking the *.esriAddIn instead of using the addin-manager. Hadn't heard of it so far and seems to be exactly the kind of functionality I was looking for. Thanks for the quick response !!

Usually I'm very happy with the tools offered for creating and maintaining geodatabase-schema's. Currently I'm working on rather complex geodatabase with a great number of domains, subtypes and relationshipclasses. For this I job I wanted to use ArcGIS Diagrammer, but since I'm working in 10.3 this option seems to be ruled out as a possibility. Any suggestions on good tools (other than the built-in tools)?
