Hello, is it possible to access ArcGIS Pro Functions from ArcGISPor SDK from a external Program (CoreHost)? For example: 1. Start ArcGIS Pro 2. Load a Project (-File) 3. Read all layers in this Project 4. Select Objects (over Attribut) in a layer and zoom to the Object It means a Remote control to ArcGIS Pro, but not form a AddIn, but fom a external program, wiritten in c#. Which basic steps we have to follow? Thanks a lot for any hints!

At the moment, only the geo column is created, but not the other two columns SHAPE_length ans SHAPE_area.

Hello, I wonder, how I can create a Polygon-Featureclass with the two standard-columns SHAPE_Length and SHAPE_Area. Must I create and fill the two columns by my own, programmatical? I'm using the FileGeodatabase API 1.5.2 in the GDAL-Environment. Thanks a lot for support.

Hello, I want to read a Layer-File (.stylx) fom disk and get the TextSymbols (with all properties) by Name. I need this information to generate a AnnotationClass with the right TextSymbols. Is it possible to do this from a Core.Host C# Application, not as an add-in, and how can I do it? Thanks a lot

We seem to have similiar problem with a customer that wants to change from server 10.3 to 10.5.1. After installing Server 10.5.1 on a new virtual machine the performance of dynamic map-services has decreased. The datastore (fgdb's) and published map services are exactly the same. Yet on the old server (also a vm) images from map-services are created twice as fast. We tested both vm's perfomance with the linpac test and microsofts diskspd tool. The new vm performed significantly better in all tests. The only difference between the servers is the operating system. The old one uses Win Server 2012 and the new one Server 2016. Otherwise the servers are quite the same. No additional software like databases, plenty of unused ram and pagefiles in the 8GB range. Heap Sizes for ArcGIS Server is 256 MB in both cases. Is there something special to the 10.5.1 version in regards to performance limiting factors as opposed to the 10.3 version?

Hello, here is a follow up question to Using st_geomfromwkb in PL/SQL: I created a PL/SQL function that translates sdo_geometry to sde.st_geometry: create or replace
function tostgeom(sdogeom in sdo_geometry)
return sde.ST_GEOMETRY
is
BEGIN
return SDE.ST_GEOMETRY_OPERATORS.st_geomfromwkb_f(sdo_geometry.get_wkb(sdogeom), 25832);
EXCEPTION
WHEN OTHERS THEN
return null;
END; I need this function because some geometries are "broken" and can't be translated to st_geometry. (Testing the sdo_geometry with sdo_util functions reveals no problem) Then I call this function in SQL: create table test as
select id,tostgeom(GEOMETRIE) as geometrie from my_polygons
where rownum<8000; The results are as expected, but the execution time ist very slow and gets slower (relatively) the more rows I include via "rownum". For example: 1000 rows take 1.7 seconds 2000 rows take 3.6 seconds 4000 rows take 7.5 seconds 8000 rows take 17.5 seconds As you can see, the execution "time per row" gets gradually slower for more rows. If I use it on the full ~2 millon rows, it never finishes. What could be the problem here? I would expect the time per row to get better instead of worse for bigger datasets, beause of lesser overhead?!? Thanks for any thoughts!

Hello Alex, thanks for your answer. In this example the "st_geomfromwkb" function is used within a SQL statement. What I want to do, is use it to populate a variable in an pl/sql statement. Luckily I found a solution: As odd as it sounds, the trick is to append an "_f" to the function name. DECLARE sdegeom sde.ST_GEOMETRY; ... sdegeom := SDE.ST_GEOMETRY_OPERATORS.st_geomfromwkb_f(sdo_util.to_wkbgeometry(rec.SHAPE), 25832); I don't really understand why this is necessary. But hey: it works... Greetings!!

Hello, I'm trying to do some tests on a big table of sdo_geometries. For that purpose I want to "translate" the oracle sdo_geometries to sde.st_geometry. In pure SQL I can simply do that like this: ... sde.st_geomfromwkb(sdo_util.to_wkbgeometry(a.SHAPE), 25832) ... In my PL/SQL function I tried it this way: DECLARE sdegeom sde.ST_GEOMETRY; ... sdegeom := SDE.ST_GEOMETRY_OPERATORS.st_geomfromwkb(sdo_util.to_wkbgeometry(rec.SHAPE), 25832); But I get this error: PLS-00224: Objekt 'SDE.ST_GEOMETRY_OPERATORS.ST_GEOMFROMWKB' muss für diese Verwendungsart Type-Funktion oder Array sein I'm not really famliliar with PL/SQL, so any advice would be nice! Is there a better way to translate from sdo_geom to st_geometry? Greetings!!
