I figured out eventually that I was getting this error because within the large annotation data set, there were characters that were not numbers (ex. ', !, #, etc.) and it was therefore throwing that error. User error!

I am trying to run the VBScript 'round' function using the field calculator on a column for a numeric field that contains a large number of rows (> 500k). When I run the code on a subset of the field (~100 rows), it runs perfectly fine, but when I try to run it on the entire table I get the subject error. It says 'there was an failure during processing, check the geoprocessing results window for details'. Does anyone know what could be causing this? This is an annotation feature class that I would like to keep in the ArcMap environment while editing to avoid having to import it back. my code is: Round([TextString], 1) The feature class is currently in a file geodatabase for testing purposes and then I will run it in SDE, ArcMap 10.2.2, Sql-Server, Windows 7 64-bit SP1. Any and all input is appreciated. Thanks.

I am trying to think of a clever way to separate this CAD information depicted below. Both the distance and the bearing are within the same layer and have almost identical attributes. I am trying to think of a way to separate one from another so I can convert the CAD annotation to geodatabase and not have to worry about going through and manually deleting each of the undesired bearing annotation. Please see the illustrations below for examples. I am using ArcMap 10.2.2, 64 bit Windows 7 SP1 machine, SQL-server. Any and all suggestions are welcome!

I work for the local county Assessor in South Carolina and am exploring the functionality and practicality of using the parcel fabric for our office. I have a select group of parcels which I have successfully migrated into a yellow fabric once and been able to establish some basic editing workflows, but the second time around (migrating) I am focusing more on the LGIM and trying to utilize it's functionality. My issue comes up when using the simple data loader to import the test parcels to the predefined attributes of the layers extracted from the Tax Parcel Editing Map layer package. The one I am referring to is the download at Tax Parcel Editing | ArcGIS for Local Government and once unzipped is TaxParcelEditingLG>Application>Migration Tools>2012-07-06_LandRecords Staging10.1.lpk. When I use the simple data loader to load my source parcels into the schema, the attributes always transfer over, but the geometry comes up empty every time. My question is, is there something I am doing wrong? Do I need to be in a different work space or something? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am trying to publish a map in ArcMap to a shared folder on our network here to access on ArcReader on another computer. I have published the map successfully, and can easily pull it up in ArcReader on my machine, but when I try to access the same document on another machine, ArcReader throws up "an unknown error has occurred while loading document" and nothing is loaded. Does anyone have any ideas or past experiences that can shed some light on this situation? Thanks in advance.

Hi, Does anyone know how to delete vertices (i.e. back up) in ArcMap 10 while drawing in freehand in the construction tools? I was just curious if there was a way to do this without having to go ahead and complete the polygon and then go back and edit the vertices post completion. Thanks! Matthew
