I am trying to use a GP tool to export a Layer to a File GDB. Is there a way to find which layers are already present in the GDB so that I can give a different name to my Layer. The code below works but was hoping there is a better way to do this. thank you, Vijay string featureClassName = AppConstants.ExportProposedBuildingName; IReadOnlyList<string> valueArray = null; await QueuedTask.Run(() => { Geodatabase fileGeodatabase = new Geodatabase(@"c:\0_Projects\CapeCodCommission\CapeCod.gdb"); bool isFound = true; int index = 0; while (isFound) { try { fileGeodatabase.OpenDataset<Table>(featureClassName); isFound = true; featureClassName = AppConstants.ExportProposedBuildingName + "_" + ++index; } catch { isFound = false; } } valueArray = Geoprocessing.MakeValueArray (proposedBuildingLayer, @"C:\0_Projects\CapeCodCommission\CapeCod.gdb\" + featureClassName); });

Thanks Chris for the detailed answer! Yes that makes sense about it being retired. Its just that it is an Old app which i don't want to go through the upgrade process for this making this minor change. Also as you mentioned we probably will be upgrading it to JS in the near future so don't want to spend too much time on this. I contacted ESRI and they said that we might be able to get older versions of APIs if we contact our account representative. I am going to do that to see if i can get it. If not i might just do the upgrade.

I have an 10.0 ArcGIS Server Machine on which i will like to figure out if Network Analyst Extension for ArcGIS Server has been Authorized or not for that machine. Also if Network Analyst has been Authorized then I will like to remove the Authorization and authorize a different server. I tried exploring the ArcGIS Server Manager site but could not figure it out. Any ideas on how we can do this?

OK finally got some time to return to this and wanted to update all on this issue. i tried the following things and it seem to fixed the issue. I did not have time to zero in on what fixed the issue. 1. Remove the ArcGIS folders(i had tried to remove them and install before so don't think this did it) 2. Turn of User Access Control on the server during the install 3. Remove all ArcGIS software from the machine and tried to install server on an empty machine. Once i tried to install after this everything seemed to install fine and the service is running fine. hope this helps someone facing the similar issue. Vijay

I am installing an ArcGIS Server 10.1 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Machine. The install goes fine but once the install is complete, the ArcGIS Server Service will not start. When i try to start it from the Services section it starts and then immediately stops. I have made sure that the Arcgis user has all the permissions on the folders, and i even made it an Local Administrator on the server. When i check in Event Viewer i get the following Message. The description for Event ID 4096 from source ArcGIS Server cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: Failed to invoke the service start function. The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file I have tried reinstalling it a couple of times but still no luck and i get the same error each time. Any ideas?

We have an Server Object Extension in ArcGIS Server 10.0 developed in .Net 4.0. Do we have to revert back to .Net 3.5 to migrate it to ArcGIS Server 10.1 as the templates are in .net 3.5.
