Version: ArcGIS Server 10.22 Hi all, We are trying to use ArcObject Cadastral libraries within a map service SOE in order to convert a feature, and write the feature to our Parcel Febric. We are facing the following problem. The following line is causing the exception below: ICadastralImporter cadastralImporter = new CadastralTopologyImporter(); Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {BED8E61A-D6B8-4E9D-AED4-BC60F5422BC4} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)). I have searched my PC registry and found BED8E61A-D6B8-4E9D-AED4-BC60F5422BC4 is esriCadastral.CadastralTopologyImporter, and ESRI.ArcGIS.Cadastral.dll exists on my ArcObkect SDK installation. However, our system adminstrator advised that he is not able to find the same on the server machine. It is mentioned at http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcobjects-net/componenthelp/index.html#/ICadastralImporter_Interface/001000000042000000/ Product Availability Available with ArcGIS Desktop. Does this mean Cadastral libraries are not supported for ArcGIS Server? and it is only avaiileble on ArcGISDesktop? What is best way to write/convert a feature into Parcel Fabric? Any help is much appreciated. Kind regards, Youmei Ge | Senior Spatial Analyst/Developer | Information Services Branch Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety Western Australia

Hi all, We have developed a custom SOE and use the SOE in two different map services. Now we are thinking to use to the same SOE for the third map service, and not sure if there are any potential problems, e.g. performance. I am looking for any suggestions/advice on using one SOE for more than one service. What is the general rules on configuring the map services in the situation that those services have a common SOE enabled? Thanks and Regards, Youmei Ge

Hi all, After we upgraded our Server Object Extension from 10.0 to 10.2.1, it is found that DefinitionExpression property doesn’t return the expression we set in the source mxd file. The code is below: IMapServerInfo mapServerInfo = mapServer.GetServerInfo(mapName); IMapDescription mapDescription = mapServerInfo.DefaultMapDescription; ILayerDescriptions layerDescriptions = mapDescription.LayerDescriptions; ILayerDescription layerDescription = layerDescriptions.get_Element(i); // get DefinitionExpression string definitionExpression = layerDescription.DefinitionExpression; //retune nothing? With ArcObjectSDK 10.0, the above line returns the expression specified in the mxd file for a layer, But with ArcObjectSDK 10.2.1, the property returns nothing. Has anyone seen the behaviour? Is this a bug in ArcObjectSDK 10.2.1 ILayerDescription.DefinitionExpression? Thanks in advance. Youmei Ge

I have worked out a solution: 1. Use #pragma pack(1) and #pragma pack(8) at the different place of the code as needed. 2. Use /Zp8 as a complier option.

Hi all, We have an application using ArcSDE SDK C API to translate our data to ArcGIS SDE geodatabase. Our application runs OK with ArcSDE SDK 10.0 for years without problems. When we re-build the same code using ArcSDE SDK 10.2 (64 bits),it is found that the structure allocated by SE_sql_construct_alloc(1, &sqlc) can not be used. The problem can be reproduced by the code below. After further investigation,I have noticed that it is the complier option /Zp1 caused the invalid structure returned. The code below works ok if it is compiled with /Zp8 or /Zp16. It will crash if it is complied with /Zp1. This indicates ArcSDK SDE 10.2 requies 8 or 16 bytes as the Struct member Alignment, however in our application we requires 1 byte as the Struct member Alignment. Can anyone suggest how we solves the conflict? We don’t have the problem with ArcSDE SDK 10.0. Any help is much appreciated. int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { long rc; SE_SQL_CONSTRUCT *sqlc; SE_CONNECTION connection; rc = SE_connection_create(NULL, "sde:sqlserver:sql_instance", "SDI", NULL, NULL, &error,&connection); // Allocate an SE_SQL_CONSTRUCT rc = SE_sql_construct_alloc(1, &sqlc); sqlc->num_tables = 1; //the code crahses at the below strcpy, debug shows sqlc->tables[0] invalid strcpy(sqlc->tables[0], "TEST"); printf("table%s\n", sqlc->tables[0]); return 0; } Best regards, Youmei

Hi all, I am struggling to find out of if the feature has been modified and the code that I have used before was Private Shared m_appReference As AppReference If m_appReference.fnGetEditor.CurrentTask.Name = "Modify Feature" Then ‘do something' End If Definition of the fnGetEditior is as below Public Function fnGetEditor() As IEditor Dim pId As New UID Dim pEditor As IEditor Try ' get the Editor based on its UID value - esriCore.Editor ' pId.Value = "esriCore.Editor" pId.Value = "esriEditor.Editor" pEditor = Me.Application.FindExtensionByCLSID(pId) Return pEditor Catch ex As Exception Return Nothing End Try End Function Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ravi. Now I know it is not a configurable value at the rest soe end. What value would be used by the fix (NIM066822)? Is it the max value of integer (Int32.MaxValue)? Thanks, Youmei

Hi all, I have a SOE enabled with a map service (9.3.1) to perform spatial query function that is similar to the example provided by the ArcObjects APIs documentation. The SOE is used from a REST Web service applcation. When a query result dataset is small, the SOE works well from the REST service, however, I am getting the following exception when the large result dataset is expected to return: ------------------------------------------------------------------ The server encountered an error processing the request. The exception message is 'The remote procedure call failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BE)'. See server logs for more details.
