Thanks Andy, That did it for me. I tried the TextFormatting.NewLine earlier, but I forgot to concatenate it... This is tedious, but once it's done, it's done and the popup will have all the information with no extra clicks. Thanks again-- Zak--

Hello, The map in question will be published through AGOL. I have a web map with a number of zones that are swept by a street sweeper. My goal is for the user to click on a given zone and get the schedule for that zone. The schedule has been worked out for the next year and a half and each zone's schedule has been listed and formatted in text. Like this: " Route 11 This route is swept on the following Fridays between 3am and 11am: Friday, June 7, 2019 Friday, July 12, 2019 Friday, August 16, 2019 Friday, September 20, 2019 Friday, October 25, 2019 Friday, November 29, 2019 Friday, January 3, 2020 Friday, February 7, 2020 Friday, March 13, 2020 Friday, April 17, 2020 Friday, May 22, 2020 Friday, June 26, 2020 Friday, July 31, 2020 Friday, September 4, 2020 Friday, October 9, 2020 Friday, November 13, 2020 Friday, December 18, 2020 This schedule may change if the sweeper truck is needed to respond to other situations like storms or accidents. The schedule may also be affected by holidays and staffing availability. Please note that not every street in any given sweeper zone is swept. Only the streets highlighted on the map are included in the route. The most common reasons for streets not being included are either that they are private, or too steep, narrow or windy for the sweeper truck to maneuver." What I would like to do is write an Arcade statement that says if the Route Id is 11 return 'This big block of formatted text' else if Route ID is 8 return 'This other big block of text', etc, etc. I believe the problem is the multi-line nature of the text. Is there any way around this? I considered using a StoryMap and putting each zone/schedule in its own tab, but although a tab can link to a feature, a feature cannot open a given tab--at least not to my knowledge and not in AGOL. Maybe in Portal with custom code, but that is not available to me. Thoughts? Thanks, Zak--

I'm still feeling my way with this workflow--it sounds like you have more experience with Pro than I do. I actually like the legends in Pro. After I figured out that I can make different layers visible or not in the legend by clicking in the TOC I am pretty happy with the legend. What do you mean by 'locking' a layout? When I get to the layout stage and get the map zoomed and centered where I want it I always make a bookmark, usually named 'Print View'+scale. I do the same thing in Desktop. Then if I activate the layout for some reason and zoom/pan around I can always get back to my layout view. I'm just figuring out how I want to deal with maps vs layouts in Pro, so I don't have a real good best practice for myself yet.

I have been keeping an eye on this thread for a while now. I thought at first that something was wrong with my set-up or network configuration etc., but after reading all these comments I see that the problem is definitely with Pro. At this point, I am using Desktop for everything up to layout, then I switch to Pro as my layout tool and import my mxd from the Desktop. Any kind of analysis, adding or calculating fields, selections, editing or creating Annotation I do in Desktop and then bring it over to Pro. I find that I can go back and forth pretty easily when I find something I need to change while I'm in Pro. I just leave Pro open, change what I need to change in Desktop and then refresh in Pro. Not the best solution, but at least it keeps my workflow flowing.

"...expecting people in an organization to work locally is unreasonable..." I agree with that. I would also characterize it as unrealistic. I have data all over the place...I would like to have one enterprise database where all my data resides, but that is never going to happen. And if it did happen it would be on a networked server, not on my local machine. I keep checking in with Pro and these threads, but I do the majority of my work in Arc Desktop because I need to get things done. I was all for pushing through the learning curve for Pro, but I feel that the performance issues are the real reason I end up going back to Desktop.

I also use this functionality in Arc Desktop. Not often, but when I do it is very handy. I would love to see that carried over to Arc Pro as well.

Thanks for that advice. I'm not sure when I will have the time to dig in that far, but it brings up another question from a practical side: would I be better off putting the data I need in a GDB on a network drive? I suppose I could try it and see...

I would like to add to the above. I had a 'Note' section that I was pulling data from. The notes were copied and pasted from an online submission form. I figured out that I needed to remove all the commas, but I still had some strange behavior. It turned out to be 'carriage returns' or 'new line' characters, not all of which were easily seen in the data. A search and replace took care of the problem. I would suggest checking all the columns in a CSV file for commas and other special characters. It doesn't take that long and could save a lot of head scratching down the road.

Hi Kory, As far as the SQL goes, yes, that works. My apologies on the claim that the data was not showing properly after applying the definition query--there are no split jurisdictions in the address point class--I was thinking of the parcel polygon data. The query works as expected with the parcel data in Pro using the query builder or writing the SQL directly. The speed difference for Pro vs Desktop is not as bad for the definition query as for the initial loading of data. Applying definition query: 2 seconds for Pro 1 for Desktop Select by attributes 8 seconds for Pro 5 for Desktop I am running ArcPro 2.1.2 The SDE database is 10.4.1 on MS SQL server--I'm not sure of the version for the SQL Server instance.

I would like to move to Pro and have tried to on and off for several years now, but each time I do I run into too many obstacles. I thought at first it was just the learning curve and I could push through it, but there is a speed issue. (Without going into specs let me say that my computer is relatively new and with plenty of RAM, video processing and processor speed.) I just did a quick test between ArcPro and Desktop (10.6): How long to load an SDE feature class of address point data for the county? 20 seconds for the data to load in Pro 6 seconds for Desktop. Then how long to apply a definition query to just my jurisdiction? I could not run the second test in Pro because the Query builder would not seem to take a wildcard statement like: Jurisdiction Contains the Text '%My Jurisdiction%'. This is a definition query I use all the time on my data. I have a lot of feature classes that are county wide, but I only want the data for my city. We have a number of parcels with split jurisdiction of 'My City, Other City' or sometimes 'Other City, My City'. So a SQL query of Jurisdiction LIKE '%My City%' is what I need. I tried a lot of variations in the query builder in Pro, but none of them worked. I could use Jurisdiction Contains the Text 'My City' but that did not give me the split jurisdictions. It looks like it should work, but when I looked through the attribute table none of the split jurisdictions made it through the query. This certainly seems like a learning curve issue except I cannot find an answer online. I know things change, but this should not be that hard. I have also noticed some of the drawing and geoprocessing issues that Mark Jackson mentioned above. Not as many or as often, because I end up giving up and going back to desktop to get my work done. I like a lot of the features I have heard about and some that I have tried in Pro. I like having multiple layouts in one project; that is something very useful to me. I often need to make a map in 11"x17" and then a large poster size version as well. Or several pages with the same base area of interest, but with different variations of related data on top. I was also very intrigued by the ability to create a task work flow in a map document that could be used to guide other staff through a process. However, on a day to day basis, even allowing for a learning curve, ArcPro ends up frustrating me far more than helping me at this point. I will keep checking back and hoping for improvements in ArcPro, but for now I am sticking with Desktop.

I found this template on the web: https://opencouncildata.org/template-policy/ I found the link on the Open Council Data site about halfway down the page under the heading 'Benefits of a Policy': https://opencouncildata.org/what-is-open-data/policies/ It's a good starting point in case anyone else is looking for this. Thanks for the reply, Sergio, but what I'm looking for is not the license, but a boilerplate template for an open data policy that the City could adopt. We would no doubt alter the wording and make it our own, but a draft document to start with would be a big help.

Hi, At the ESRI UC 2017, at a workshop on Open Data, Courtney Claessens mentioned that there is an 'Open Data Policy' template available. Does anybody know where to find that resource? Great workshops by the way--I'm very excited to get our City moving into Open Data-- Zak--
