I have a feature class of footprint polygons that I want to use to hard clip a TIN. I selected the footprint I wanted, then used that feature class in the Edit TIN tool. What resulted was the entire TIN having no nodes. This looks like the Edit TIN tool does not recognise selected records, and uses everything in the feature class being used to edit the TIN. This is because polygons for that feature class cover the entire TIN, so if I hadn't selected one and used that layer to hard clip the TIN then I'd expect it to result in no nodes.
This has implications for a model I have created which iterates through rows of the footprints feature class. Now I need to add new steps to the model to export new feature classes for each row then clip by that new feature class.
Please can Esri make the Edit TIN tool respect row selections in the feature class being used for TIN editing.
