Hey all. I want to get a new computer for working with arc scene. Can anyone advice me on specs. So far all arc Scene has been good for is crashing. I know the minimum requirements posted by esri but I have  a chance to get a proper run at geting this program going and would like to have the right specs. Anyone?

Of primary importance is the graphics card. There are cards designed for high end gaming, do not go that route. There are cards designed for 3D rendering and display - get one of these. I went with an NVIDIA Quadro 2000 (a mid to high end card at the time with 1gb ram) in July of 2009 and run arcscene as well as other 3D visualizations without trouble. I am sure there are better cards out there now.

Jim

Unlike ArcGlobe which uses disk caching, ArcScene's performance is strictly tied to the computer's physical memory. In addition to a beefy graphics card, I would also max out the memory in the PC's motherboard (12-16Gb).
