How to add a new field in attribute table dynamically

Hi guys

I want to add a new field into attribute table dynamically with arcgis api for flex,for example there are some default fields like 'FID' and 'shape' when I create a shapefile layer in catalog,and I can add new fields through Arcmap,but now I want dynamically add new fields  with flex,does arcgis api for flex support it?

    Schema manipulation such as adding a field is not supported using the Flex API.
