Bringing in Polylines as Shapes

Hi everyone.

I'm looking for a workflow to import closed Polylines in AutoCAD as shapes in CityEngine.

I found this video, in which shapes from Sketchup are imported into CityEngine using the KMZ format. When I try to do the same thing, the shapes come in as highly triangulated models. When I use 'Convert Models to Shapes' they merge together.

Has anyone found a clean way to do this?

Matt what exactly are you looking to do? What are the lines for? Will they create a fill/shape?

@DevinLavigne

Thanks for following up on this. As you suggested, I wanted a shape that I can assign CGA rules to in the same way as a Lot.

In the end, I found a solution - by creating a HATCH from the shapes, converting to a surface (CONVTOSURF), then converting to a mesh (MESHSMOOTH) - saving a DWG and importing into CityEngine.

Sounds good. Yes I was going to say bring them in as fills.
