When sharing a map with the public users frequently want to understand quickly what each layer in the map means. It would be nice for the functionality to have a hover or about icon where you can describe what the layer represents without having to open another screen or add another view/widget component. For example, a layer in the map titled "Organization Funded Electric Vehicle Chargers ", could have the brief blurb-->"These are the fast chargers around your state that are on public property and have been 100% funded by your organization." That way you don't clutter the legend with a ton of text, don't have to open a new window, or dig around to find the information. It provides the functionality to have additional context for a layer for the public.
