Toggle map layer visibility based on selected row in List Widget

Dear AGOL community

In Experience Builder, I'm wondering if there is anyway to automatically toggle the visibility of a map layer based on a selected row in a List Widget - see image below. The map layer comes from an OGC WMS, and is not directly connected in any way to the data behind my List Widget. But as you can see, the two lists contain the same names.

You will need to develop a custom widget in Developer Edition to get exactly what you want.

The closest option available in ArcGIS Online would be to re-organize all of your data into a single feature layer and use the List widget to filter it.
