Connections to other WebParts

Hello,

I´m trying to Connect to another WebPart from the ESRI Map WebPart in SharePoint 2010.
My ESRI Map WebPart says when I want to click on Connections:
"Thie WebPart you are connecting from does not allow authoring of connections."
I thought I could define object ID´s here that can be sent out to other WebParts to be consumed? Is this not possible?
I found a demo that showed exactly what I want to do. Has anyone an Idea of how they got this to work?
