Locator Services not appearing in Geocoding Workflow

Hello,

When attempting to apply the ArcGIS Geocoding Workflow to a list containing address information I am unable to select a locator service during the process (see attachment). I have the 3 out of the box locators within site settings, and have the Bing Maps locator as the default. Any ideas why these might not be displaying?

I have checked my server and have all pre-req. MIME types activated. Is there an additional setting I am missing?

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Would love to get this working...

Running SP2010 on Windows Server 2008.

How many items are there in a list? If number is more than 5000 then take subset of list and try configuring geocoding workflow. Do you see list of locators now?
Also try configuring geocoding workflow from different machine/browser.

Thanks for the reply. Alas, I only have 2 records in my list. I have also tried in both Firefox and IE from separate machines and get the same behavior on both.

My SP2010 instance is https, so I have a theory that somehow this may be the culprit. I have modified all of the locator URLs to be https as well, but this has not resolved the issue. Any settings I might be able to double check? I have played around with Fiddler while trying to run through the workflow, but did not see any blocked calls or other red flags.

Anyone running https have this geocoding workflow working?

Thanks in advance,
Andy

I am having the same issue.  I am too https for Sharepoint and the http/https did bugger things up when I was tyring to get the base maps and layers configured.  Did you ever resolve this issue?

No progress on this yet. If you figure it out with HTTPS, please post!

After a 2.5 hour phone support call with Technical Support at ESRI Canada I was able to resolve this issue.  I do have other issues still, but this one has been solved.  Here's what I know and hopefully it will help you as well:

  • If your sharepoint site is "https" then all of the basemap, connections, geoemetry service and locator URL's must too be "https".

  • The BING and ARCGIS Online URL's work when you simply change them to "https".  The Open Map doesn't seem to work

  • As for the locator/address fields coming up blank - this is a result of a defined locator not being accessible.   If one is not accessible, the whole list shows up empty. If you added any custom locators, I'd start by deleting them from the configuration and then seeing if it works.

I am having a problem getting the ArcGIS Online locators to work when I set-up my workflow.  According to technical support the issue is because this process is actually run on the Sharepoint server and not within the browser.  My workflow fails because a "trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel" could not be established.  This means that the firewall on my Sharepoint server is not allowing communication with ArcGIS Online.  The same error occurs when I add one of my own locators.  I still have to remedy this issue.  When I have it fixed, I will repost the result.  Hope this helps!

Great info! I had a feeling it was something with the firewall. I have been playing around with some settings, but still can't get the OOTB locators to display in the workflow...I'll let you know if I stumble upon a solution as well.

Thanks,
Andy

I am also having the same issue that bing locator service is not showing up in GeoCoding workflow. Can you post the Bing maps locator service? I added the URL for bing maps in locator settings- http://dev.virtualearth.net/webservices/v1/geocodeservice/geocodeservice.svc and added bing key in configuration file. I am not sure if the issue is with URL or if I am missing any thing here. Please do the needful ASAP. Thanks.
