I have an existing application that I would like to integrate a map into. So I would not be using out-of-the-box approaches. The users have an existing distributed GDB on their desktop. How can I utilize this GDB with ArcGIS mobile. Do I have to use ArcGIS server? It seems that the domumentation on:

http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgismobile/10.0/apis/arcgismobile/help/index.html#/How_to_build_effectiv...

infers that this is possible, but I do see any examples. Any pointers? Thanks.

Hi.

1- Set up the structure and data for your personal geodatabase (gdb).
2- Create a map referencing the data from your gdb.
3- Create you map cache: Use the Create Mobile Map tool from Mobile Tools toolbox to create the map cache.
4- Create your field project with Mobile Project Center. Add the map cache from Step 3.

Look at Slides 31 and onwards at

Thanks for the info. I would lke to be able to do what you explain programatically. I alway like to assume that if you can do it from a tool then there is an arcobject one case use as well. Does anyone have any pointers where to get started doing something like june12011 described with arcobjects. Thanks.
