The latest release contains lots of new goodies and new documentation on how to take advantage of them. You can check out this blog post for details, or dive into the different documentation sections linked below.

HTTPS
Open Data sites now supports HTTPS for non-custom site URLs. Simply enter the HTTPS equivalent of your site’s URL. More information about HTTPS is available here.

Note: an organization administrator must log in to your Open Data app to unlock the following features for everyone.

Pages
You can now configure more than one page for each Open Data site. This allows you to better tell your story and build more complex sites. Learn how by visiting the documentation here.

Site and page sharing
Open Data now runs on the ArcGIS Online platform. All sites are now stored as items in your ArcGIS Online account. Because of this change, you can now more granularly control who can see your sites using sharing. Read up on how we improved sharing here.

Team manager
You can now manage who is able to work on Open Data sites directly in Open Data Admin. Simply visit the Team tab to get started. Read more about the Team tab here.

Any advancements to the local coordinate download problem?

Hi Justin,

We are working towards getting downloads directly from ArcGIS Online which will skip the projection transformation step that causes the error you're observing in ArcMap.

It appears that the sites URL changed (form a "." to a "-") between the site and the org name also. It caused some redirects to fail in our organization until we converted it to the new URL.

Hi Brady,

The urls did change to dash to enable https access to your sites. However, old links should definitely still be working. Can you provide a sample of the urls that failed so we can dig into why this happened?

Are there any plans to allow us to customize the data layer result pages in future updates?  We thankful being able to add more pages now. It would be great to be able to customize the search result pages and the the data layer results pages since those are the pages that our customers will look at most after the home page.

I noticed that our team members can no longer see the contents of the Settings tab.  Was this an intentional part of the most recent upgrade?

Also, where can I find what version or date updated on our open data site?  Where is the historical update documentation on what updates were applied or bugs repaired?

Hi Thomas,

I have the settings tab bug logged in our system. We do not have a historical record of updates, but we are currently in the works of updating our documentation, and further updates will include this record.

Hi,

Are there any plans yet to be able to add <script> - I wanted to add a twitter feed and also add a Feedback tab to my site, but they use <script> in the html?

Thanks

Matt @ ONS Geography

Hi Matt,

We have plans to include a twitter card to bypass the need for <script> tags. Regarding the feedback tab - what kinds on content would you be looking to include? A simple feedback form going to an email, or something else? We're looking at ways to include feedback within the sites and pages as well.
