Dears, I have 3 rasters for specific area with different scales (25K, 50K, 100K) in meters. I want to create a maps from these rasters so I digitized the 25K raster and a coworker told me that I can generate 50K and 100K maps based on features that I created within 25K map using specific tools or products.

so what kind of these products or tools and if any resources?

Hi moebra,

Thank you for your post.

In ArcGIS Pro, the generalization capabilities consist of geoprocessing tools that perform generalization operations like thinning and simplification. You can find many of these tools in the Generalization Toolset in the Cartography Toolbox. Please refer to the web-help link below:

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/cartography/an-overview-of-the-generalizatio....

These tools can be combined together into Model Builder models or python scripts to perform multiple generalization operations on a type of feature. Because these models can be quite complicated to create, a set of generalization models are provided as part of the Production Mapping and Defense Mapping products that contain the most common types of generalization performed on topographic data. There is an Esri video titled ArcGIS: Automating Topographic Data and Map Production. It can be found in the Topographic Mapping Product Channel. At the 16 min 50 sec mark in the video, a product engineer talks about the generalization capabilities in Production Mapping and Defense Mapping. A link to the video is below:

If you can provide more information about the types of features you are trying to generalize and the end results you are trying to achieve, we may be able to point you in the direction of more specific tools or products.

Regards,

Dan
