The Replace Web Layers functionality in ArcGIS Online is confusing when working with Vector Tiles.
The replace web layers function will rename and replace the hosted tile layer, but not the hosted tile package. this causes confusion as I don't know which vector tile package is the most up to date. Please keep the names of the vector tile layer and package in sync when we update vector tiles.
Requested behavior of Replace Web Layer
- "My tiles" tile layer is renamed to "My tile Archive" tile layer. (current)
- "My tiles" package is renamed to "My tiles archived" tile package. (requested)
- "New My tiles" tile layer replaces the original tile layer and is renamed to "My tiles" (current)
- "New My tiles" tile package replaces the original tile package and is renamed to "My tiles". (requested)
P.S. As a bonus please consider let the overwrite web layer work with vector tiles as well!
