There might be an easy solution and I'm missing it because I'm still getting used to the new viewer -but I'm trying to embed just a Web Map (not an instant app).

In the scenario - I'm using the a Web Map to visually show Survey123 responses. The map is going to be embedded into a website (Moodle). I have the map set to public sharing, but I still can't seem to generate an embed code. After updating the visibility, I'll click on Share Map again and it just has options for visibility, but nothing to generate the code (screenshot attached).

I know how to put the map in an Instant App and share it that way - but I'm trying to create a process with as least steps as possible. For a new users, creating the Survey123, a map, and then adding it to a 3rd party program is quite a bit. I also know I can switch it to the classic viewer to embed it, but I'm trying to avoid adding extra steps and I want to stay in the new viewer primarily.

Any advice is welcome!

Hi Sara!

I'm happy to hear you are exploring Map Viewer and taking advantage of all it currently has to offer. At the moment, only Map Viewer Classic offers out-the-box Embed HTML code when Sharing your map. But we do have plans to implement this in Map Viewer in the future!

I recommend checking out this documentation that will walk you through the OOTB available options for embedding your apps and maps. Your best option at the moment may be to have them pop over to Map Viewer Classic and grab that embed link until we see the ability to generate this in (new) Map Viewer.

Hope this helps!

Hello Sarah -

Thank you for your message!

Do you happen to know when this will be planned as a feature? I'm only asking because our organization really requires this functionality, and the deprecation for the ArcGIS Online Classic Viewer will be starting September 2022. Is the intent to encourage everyone to put maps into Instant Apps?

Thank you again!

Hello! I'm a Product Manager on the ArcGIS Online team, and I'm jumping in to clarify:
Map Viewer Classic is in general availability; it has not been scheduled for deprecation.

In our next update, Presentation for Map Viewer Classic will be retired. You can review the details of this deprecation at this link: https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000027297
Presentation is a slide-creation feature accessible through Map Viewer Classic. It has been superseded by the Exhibit app, which is an ArcGIS Online Instant App. More on Exhibit here:
https://doc.arcgis.com/en/instant-apps/latest/create-apps/exhibit.htm#:~:text=Use%20the%20Exhibit%20...

To your question about embed: we do not have Map Viewer embed functionality on a timeline just yet, but (as you know and I'll place here for others coming through) in the meantime, you can publish your map through Instant Apps and embed the app. More info on that workflow is here:
https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/share-maps/embed-maps-groups.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_9B629D885B1D4...

Hope that's helpful, and please let me know if you have additional questions.

For ArcGIS Online staff: is there any update on being able to access an embed code with the new Map Viewer? It's not so new anymore and many features don't translate into the Classic Viewer.
