So I served out some data today and added it to my content on ArcGIS online.  Everything seemed to work fine, I could view the data and added it to a map with few problems.  However, as soon as I started sending it out to others to test it we all started getting messages that said the "layer is not responding".
Not only that, but previously I could open the service in ArcMap10 but now I get an error message as well.  My server is still up and working as I can still view web applications I have created.

Hi John,

Have you shared the service with everyone (public)? This is necessary before others can view the layer in the map. If yes, what is the URL of the Web map? We can take a look and see if we notice anything that might be causing the error you report.

Thanks
Molly

Sounds like there is a problem with the particular service since you can't access it from ArcMap either. I'd try restarting that particular service through Manager or ArcCatalog.

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, they're both shared with everyone.  I've restarted both services and got it to load in IE in house.  But failed in Opera and in IE outside the shop.

I suspect the REST endpoint of your server is not configured correctly. This recent blog post should help solve your problem.

Let us know if this works.
