When using the Import Parcel Fabric Points (IPFP) geoprocessing tool, the attributes of parcel fabric points get updated from the source points only when the field names match between them.
However, there are instances where the field names of parcel fabric points and source points differ. Consequently, fields with different names won't be updated. For instance, if parcel fabric points have a text field named "Name" and the source points have a field called "NewName," the "Name" field will not be updated with the "NewName" value.
To address this issue, incorporating a field mapping option in the IPFP gp tool would be highly beneficial. Such an option would allow users to map fields, saving time and eliminating the need to manually rename necessary fields using the field calculator.
