ArcGIS Pro 2.6.8; Oracle 18c 10.7.1 EGDB:

Enterprise geodatabase and mobile geodatabase items in Catalog have prefixes. Often, I want to copy the item name for use in an email, documentation, or code (Python, SQL, etc.).

I can copy the entire item name, including the prefix, fairly easily.

But copying only the item name, without the prefix, is somewhat fiddly if done often. Could an easier method be added, such as a "Copy Item Name" right-click option or a keyboard shortcut?

Video:

It's not shown in the video, but many of my item names start with the letter "I". That character is narrow and is fiddly to select if you're clumsy like me. I often accidentally start the selection at the next character. So I need to go back and re-do the selection properly, starting at the letter "I".

If I could copy the item name without the prefix using OOTB functionality, then that wouldn't be an issue.

Unless I'm mistaken, we already have a "Copy Path" option in the right-click context menu, correct?  I could see a similar button for "Copy Name Without Prefix" or something.

Thanks for the idea @Bud

The potential number of unique 'copy name' variations across ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Server and many more products accessible in the catalog would mean that in order to establish this type of functionality across the board, we would need to provide a whole slew of options that would overload the menu.

This type of functionality is not planned for any foreseeable development cycle.
