Change of Map Frame - Set to Bookmark Instead of Zoomed to Full Extent

I often use a duplicated layout, then change the Map Frame source. When this is done the scale of the map zooms to the full extent of the data. I wish there was an option for Layouts to set a default extent or Bookmark of the respective Map. This saves time waiting for the layout to finish drawing (particularly if there's an underlying ESRI basemap so it's literally drawing all our data zoomed out to the entire world!) before activating the Map Frame and choosing the correct scale and location (usually by picking a saved Bookmark.

Thank you for your idea! While this doesn't do exactly what you described or work in all situations, map frame constraints can be helpful in making sure all data doesn't draw when you change a map frame. See this blog to learn more about why repathing a map frame works like that and how map frame constraints can help https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-pro/mapping/map-frames-and-the-magic-of-map-frame-c....

Thanks AubriKinghorn! I never thought of tweaking that Display Option-> Constraint option first before changing the Map Frame. I still think an overt "adhere to Bookmark" would be a great time saver, though.

Somewhat-related, I just posted an Idea that sparked from me running into a similar issue:

https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-pro-ideas/tool-or-function-to-easily-duplicate-amp-fork-a/idi-p...

tl;dr I frequently find myself needing two almost-identical layouts.  I'll build the first one, duplicate the layout, duplicate the map, and then re-point everything on the second one and finally make whatever changes are different between the two layouts.  Very tedious because of little headaches like the one addressed by your idea.

I would love to be able to tell a Layout, "Hey, I'm pointing you to a new map.  But everything is actually the same under the hood, so just trust me and repeat exactly what you were displaying before with the old map.  No resetting things to the default!  It'll be fine, and I'll fix whatever breaks manually!"
