Our organization is working with an enterprise Parcel Fabric in ArcGIS Pro. In some scenarios, we have to adjust the active topology from the Fabric Topology to the Map Topology. For example: when we are using the Move tool or the Edit Vertices tool and we don't want the features to crack. Because the active topology is only visible on 2 ribbons (Edit ribbon and Quality ribbon), it is easy to forgot that the active topology has been altered. If the active topology could be displayed more prominently (i.e., if it could be added to the Quick Start menu, for example), that would be very valuable, as it would prevent mappers from making errors in the data that are entirely avoidable.

@MizukiKayano2 Thanks for posting your idea.

If you are using ArcGIS Pro 2.7 or prior release, you can add the Topology options command to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) using Customize Quick Access Toolbar capability.

Steps:

  1. From the ArcGIS Pro Settings page, click Options to open Options dialog
  2. On the Options dialog box menu, under Application, click Quick Access Toolbar
  3. Change Choose commands from to display List of Tabs as shown belowJosphatMutunga_1-1712601688645.png
  4. Expand the Edit tab then Manage Edits underneath
  5. Select Topology Options from the list then click Add
  6. Click Ok to save changes. Now you can see the active topology from QAT when working in your map.

I have changed the idea status to so we can investigate what changed at ArcGIS Pro 2.8 release onwards.

I hope this helps.

@JosphatMutunga - thank you for the info! I had been looking to see if this could be added to the Quick Start menu, as I figured that should be possible. We are at version 3.2, so it makes sense why we can't see that option. Thanks for investigating.
