I have used arcgis server in the past and have installed standalone (and server) arcgis installations before.

I am trying to create a geodatabase in postgresql but its asking me for authorization file in the wizard.

There is no authorization file listed in myEsri orgranization file or under licensing which was successfully activated nor via any emails. License says it is active and approved for offline arcgis pro use

"Single user" desktop used to have ability to use an external database for storage ....

Has esri taken this ability away ? I have looked at all ways to generate an authorization file for my

single user license but find none. Does anyone have any insights on this. Without this file

use of my postgresql database stopped in its tracks. Esri even includes the database in its downloads

do you have a standard or advanced license for Pro?

Privileges for using ArcGIS with a PostgreSQL database—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

I don't use it so the installation and access seems restricted to me

If you have installed (and authorized) ArcGIS Server, then you can create an Enterprise Geodatabase (EGDB) in PostgreSQL following the documentation here: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/geodatabases/manage-postgresql/setup-geodatabase-...

***Note - please review the steps above before creating the EGDB***

For the create Enterprise Geodatabase GP tool (https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/create-enterprise-geodatabas...), you can find the license file here (on Windows):

"This file is written to \\Program Files\ESRI\License<release#>\sysgen when you install ArcGIS Server on Windows"

If you only have ArcGIS Pro, then you will be able to do the following in your PostgreSQL DB: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/databases/databases-and-arcgis.htm

Hope this helps!
