I'm new to ArcGIS Pro and I'm trying to figure out how to visualize building shadows for just a few building polygons on a city block.  I want to see where the shadows from building A fall on the adjacent lot and that adjacent lot's building.  I'd also like the building shadow to appear on the aerial photo covering the ground.  I don't want to do any crazy shadow volume type analysis.  Just want to visualize the shadow at certain times of day and year using Pro's illumination properties.  The buildings are just footprints in a feature class that have a height value in an attribute for extrusion.

Eventually want to try the same shadow visualization thing with trees.

This is the simplest reference I could find, but I am not sure it is the effect you want

Unless I'm missing your question, it sounds like you just need to turn on "shadows in 3d" in map properties->illumination, and set the map time to something that will cast the desired shadow.
