I just added 20 addresses to an existing project in ArcGIS.  The addresses are in Excel.  To add them to the project, I clicked Add Data in ArcGIS, pointed to the excel fkile containing the spreadsheetwith the 20 sample addresses.  Now the 20 addresses are in the project

So your MS Excel file is read-only in ArcGIS Pro - as such, you cannot add an X and Y attribute field to your *.xlsx file.  To do this, you'll need to export the layer to a new Feature Class in your project file geodatabase.  Then you can run the Calculate Geometry Attributes (Data Management) GP tool to add the Lat/Long coordinates to your newly created feature class.
