Why are my fields with domains showing the code not the description value in Pro?

I opened a feature class in Pro, and my fields seem like they have domains applied; however, the code not the description value of the domain is showing up. And, if I attempt to edit the value in the respective field in the attribute table, it's as if the coded domain value does not exist.

I attempted to assign the domain value and that didn't work. I tried to create a new domain and then assign, that also failed. Any suggestions? I'm trying to migrate to Pro from 10.4, but I'm stuck on this one.

I hope you have used Integer (Short/Long) as the datatype of the corresponding field in the attribute table.
