AGO Feature Layer Query returns domain but Enterprise doesnt?

Hi, searched for this but cant find anything regarding this...
I have a customer who is switching an external data feed (ie feature service) from ArcGIS Online to Enterprise 10.9.1.
Testing has shown that the a query to Online returns domain details in a query response eg notice below how the dStates domain is included in the query results.
However the same query on Enterprise doesnt include the domain.
I cant find any reference to this behaviour in the REST API docs nor are there any settings for the service.
Is this just a feature of hosted feature services and is not available to normal Enterprise feature services?

Update, hosted feature service on Enterprise dont have the domain either...
