I generally would love a document that explains the framework behind the various groups and view layers for some of the solutions. Working with the Sewer Data Management Solutions, what is the difference between SewerSystem_editing and SewerSystem_fieldinventory? One of the most baffling is why is there a Sewer Viewer Map and a Sewer Mobile Viewer? They appear to be the same.

Hello,

Question 1. What's the difference between the editing and fieldinventory views?

The views are designed for different users. The editing view has full editing capabilities versus the fieldinventory view has more limited editing capabilities and was designed with bigger symbology size for mobile users. To view the editing capabilities got to the feature layer view item page, click on the Settings tab  and scroll to the Editing section to see the settings.

Question 2. What's the difference between Sewer Viewer Map vs the Sewer Mobile Viewer?

The Sewer Viewer Map is designed for the Sewer Viewer application for office/web use versus the Sewer Mobile Viewer which is designed to be used in the Field Maps and provides larger symbology.

Another helpful tip is every item should have a summary and description to explain a bit more about the items use.

Thanks for some explanation on this. Follow up question, for fieldinventory View layers, they are set to only allow editing for features that user has created? So a field worker would be able to add features, and edit them, but can't update existing features?

Correct, they wouldn't be able to update features that they didn't create. If the editing settings don't work for  your organization you can always adjust to meet your organizations needs.
