Briefings, a new slide-based presentation output of ArcGIS StoryMaps, has been updated and released in ArcGIS Online.

Use briefings in the ArcGIS StoryMaps builder to combine maps, 3D scenes, embedded content, multimedia, and more into an interactive presentation that can create awareness, influence opinion, and affect change. Consolidate critical information into shareable slides that are modern and responsive with the easy-to-use builder.

Add interactive ArcGIS items into briefings and encourage stakeholders to make connections based on location-specific attributes. Share briefings on the big screen or take key information offline and present it in disconnected environments and the field with the complementary ArcGIS StoryMaps Briefings app, available for iOS and Android tablets and Windows computers and tablets.

Updates to briefings include:

  • Autoplay, a popular ArcGIS StoryMaps feature, comes to briefings allowing you to showcase dynamic briefing slides on large displays at a conference or in a public lobby. Autoplay flips through all the slides in your briefing and a range of speeds allow you to choose the cadence that fits your content. Briefings will even autoplay when they appear inside an ArcGIS StoryMaps collection.
  • New slide layouts provide variety in how you present briefings and include room for more content with full-slide and title-free layouts. Recently added section slides enable you to differentiate between agenda items.
  • Builder usability enhancements bring slide duplication, the ability to reuse images already uploaded in the briefing builder, the option to swap content between slide panels, and improvements to the placement of media.
  • Configure briefings for offline presentations with interactive maps and scenes that can be shared using the ArcGIS StoryMaps Briefings app.

ArcGIS StoryMaps briefings will be out of beta in the ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 release in May 2024. If you have ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2, you can access the beta version of briefings if your organization’s administrator has enabled beta features.
