Has anyone experienced an issue with surveys not being able to be downloaded on Android 8.0 Oreo devices? I am not sure if this issue is specific to my phone brand, but when I download a survey in the app, I get a confirmation message saying that the survey has been successfully downloaded. However, when I go and try to view the survey, it says no surveys on device and shows me the button to get surveys. If I click on it, same issue repeats.

I have checked all the permissions for the app and it has all the permissions.

When I repeat the same workflow on an apple ipad(using same ArcGIS online credentials), the survey downloads just fine. The survey is shared with public.

Hi Anish,

I can at least say that it isn't an issue on all Android 8.0 devices, because my own phone (a Samsung Galaxy S8+) is running Android 8.0.0 and can download surveys, both shared to the account and shared publicly.

Can we learn more about your device, or perhaps your survey? You might not be comfortable linking it, but it would help. Can you download other, non-public surveys?

Additionally: Can you try opening this public survey? https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/16bf3305d5d94953b456566540d025f2?open=menu  It's one used by Survey123's Twitter during the Winter Olympics, so there shouldn't be any security concerns.

Additionally, can I ask what version of Survey123 you're running on your Android device? A similar issue was fixed in version 2.8, so if you haven't updated to that version, please do so and try again.

Hi Claire, Thank You for the quick response. I am using htc honor 7x. Not a very common phone. It does have the latest version of survey123 installed. The survey link you provided is not working either.

Here is the link to my survey https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/bd2cc0082abe4dce90d09b4725442408

I do get all the expected confirmation messages that says that the survey has been successfully downloaded.

The only thing that I am guessing could be causing this issue is my device is set to use the sdcard as default storage.

I looked up the Honor 7x, and don't see any reasons that it should be having problems with Survey123, especially not an issue like this. I wouldn't totally rule it out, because I've seen some exceptionally weird problems isolated only to specific models before, but it seems unlikely.

Are you sure that your survey is shared publicly? Because on clicking that link and signing in, I get "This survey does not exist or is unavailable" as well. If I can get access to it then I can help rule some things out.

We've tested Survey123's behavior when moved to an SD card without issue, but it might still be what's at fault. Did you move it within the Android OS (that is, by going through to Settings > Apps> Survey123 and storing it on the SD card) or through other methods? Could you use that method to move it to internal storage and try again?

Hi Claire,

Sorry I deleted the survey so it is no longer available. However, my guess was correct. The error was due to the default storage setting on my device set to sd card. I changed it to internal and now it is working. There was no app specific setting to change the storage location available so I had to make a global change. I am not sure whether this will also effect other phones having similar feature but probably worth testing.

I am currently on a Moto E4 running Android 7.1.1. When I open the app, it just goes blank. The app that I am trying to load is https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/7b31ad2e273f497781408025e7194d77?open=menu

Here is the image that I got on my phone

Hi Jeff,

I don't have your specific device combination, but in testing on an Android 7.0 device, I am seeing proper behavior of the sharing page in both the built-in browser ('Browser' on my device) and Chrome.  Could I ask you install a different browser (such as Firefox) and try the QR code again to see if it's a browser issue?
