Flex Attribute Table widget and map services

Hi -

We have an old flex-based map, still heavily used.  The Attribute table is currently not working.  We have our city water network set up as a cached map service, with feature access.  In the config.xml file, the layer references the service as a whole (not individual layers within the service).

I am wondering if this is why nothing shows up for the attribute table?  Would we need to configure that widget to explicitly name each individual layer we want to show up in the Attribute Table ( a GIANT pain because there are 50 or so layers, all cached at about 10 different scales).

Or, hopefully, is there a setting somewhere that allows you say essentially 'include all of the layers withing this map service in the attribute table"?

Thanks -

Allen,

when you say you have a cached map service are you adding it to the viewer as type="tiled", if so this will be why nothing is showing in your attribute table. The widget only works with a dynamic map service or feature layer.

So yes, the type='tiled' in the config file.  However there are tons of feature layers within the tiled map service.  And I can explicitly name them in the attribute table widget config file and those show up - was hoping there was a default setting for a tiled service that would allow those to be visible in the attribute table widget.

However, we also have a dynamic map service in this map, showing much of the same data.  For that service, the attribute table/s will show up, with the correct columns and names, but never any actual data. The 'No features in current map extent' message always shows up, when in fact there are plenty of features that should be showing up w/ data.
