I've created a Zoning Service that has 4 Layers. My Streets Layer labels just fine but my Address labels do not show up in my Flex application. I can see them when I preview my Service when I create it in Desktop, but not when I add it to an .mxd or Flex Viewer. My Rest/Services shows them as being labeled under Drawing Info: Labeling Info. Any ideas.

ArcGIS Server 10.1 sp1, Flex Viewer 3.4

Jeremy,

Can you provide additional info? Like are you using Appliction Builder? What layer type (i.e. Dyanmic or Feature) is the layer being added as to the main config.xml?

Hi Robert,

I am using the Application Builder and it is a Dynamic Layer. It's one of 4 feature classes that are part of the map service. Another is my Streets feature class which the labels appear. My Address Layer is the fc that doesn't label. The label is simply Address Number & Direction concatenated.

Also, on my rest/services folder, under that map service it shows "Has Labels: true" for that Address layer and it also has a description under the Drawing Info:Labeling Info

Does  the layer have a join? I had a layer fail to label when published; remove the join and it's good. This applies to 10.1 SP1 and is supposed to be fixed in 10.2,  NIM087311 .http://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/role/beta10_1/TklNMDg3MzEx

Jeremy,

Also another very common mistake with App Builder is that people drill into the map service folder and choose a specific layer of a map service which adds the layer as type="feature" and not type="dynamic". Labeling is not supported when a layer is added as type feature. Related post concerning this issue:
