Workforce - mobile workers grab assignments from unassigned?

Mobile workers can only see assignments that have been assigned to them.  We have a use case for letting mobile workers grab unassigned work and assign it to themselves.  Essentially a self-serve ticketing system with a queue of unassigned work that is visible to all mobile workers.  This would relieve overload on the Dispatcher when things get busy.

Would anyone else find this a useful option?

Is there any update on this? We have another client asking for workers to see unassigned work in the field and being able to assign it to themselves.

We are in the process of brining a tasking capability to Field Maps. It's in the roadmap that mobile users would be able to pick from a list of unassigned tasks.

Thank you for your feedback and interest in the unassigned feature. We understand that this has been a long-awaited capability, and we appreciate your patience.  

We have been actively working on enhancing the to-do list functionality as a whole as we bring this capability into Field Maps, including adding the unassigned feature, enabling custom fields and form logic, facilitating custom status options, and simplifying the overall model for easier integration patterns. Our goal is to provide a seamless experience within Field Maps while addressing the most requested features.
