Creating polygon feature shape changes

So I am trying to create a polygon shape in a feature class and every time I draw it and it looks good, it changes to a different shape thats slightly off in all directions. I checked coordinate system of the data frame, the layers and everything matches. I even tried using the draw rectangle tool, and it still malformed it into a different shape. I have no idea why or how to fix it. I have tried editing vertices, reshaping, and it always transforms back to this shape I don't want.

This sounds exactly like a projection issue, CoreyMacIssac1.

Try adding your polygon shapefile to a new, empty map, and see how it displays. If it appears as expected, this verifies my assumption that it is projection related.

If this does not provide the information you need, post your shapefile, and perhaps I or someone else can provide a better response.
